Oops sorry... Not Hero.. whatever this silly money game is over in Japan. Had watched a Hero ad so had that running around my head.

Oh how beautiful a playoff with Rory and Reed would be...it would be the best thing this tournament has ever had happen. And of course...I’d like to watch Rory bury that cheating putz.

So glad to see Rory back in the winners circle! Definitely not overated. Certainly hasn't been as consistent as some of the best players of all time. But when he is on, he is one of the best there is!

Are the 512 replies to this topic about Rory being overrated or has this become a Rory Catch all topic? If the latter, the topic title should maybe reflect it.

Good to see him win again. His first since 2019. 2020 wasn’t his best year and an up-and-down 2021 so far with missing the cut one week and being top 10 the next. 

But that has been Rory all along and maybe what spurred this topic: his inconsistent performance. One week he’s hitting it as well as anyone has and the next he’s out of it and struggling. His talent is undeniable, but inconsistency is keeping him down.

Consistency is the most over used and misunderstood word in golf. It’s like sinus infection in medicine.

My very first golf lesson the instructor asked me what skill we were going to work on, I said "I want to be more consistent".   He laughed.   I hit a few weak pushes and he said well, you have that down pat, let's work on fixing your swing path.

That pretty much nails it - inconsistency.   He even admitted that the recent quest for distance ruined his swing to where he can't draw the ball like he used to.   He reminds me of Dale Earnhardt Jr in his NASCAR career - the kid could drive "at times" but most of the time he was all over the place, never in the groove.  Did not stop him from being the circuit's most popular driver.  Rory is the same to the PGA - he comes across as very likeable and the guy you would love to play a round of golf with.

      Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.

      Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.

      Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.

      Yes, but you don't live in the UK, so you have no idea what we think about it here. It's a very different mindset here, to demonstrate the fact you should consider 9 out of 10 games we play here are Stableford, whereas you you almost solely play medal. Neither is right or wrong, it's just different  I'm trying to avoid swearing here. Once again, and for the 1000th time, I understand the system, I just don't agree with it. Is there anything wrong with that? PS, I do not have the time or patience to post my results, especially as they prove nothing  That's because 99% of the posters are Yanks
