I punched February on my Michigan card.  Walked 36 holes today and played 18.*  That makes 24 straight months with at least one round each month in the Frozen Mitten.  45 degrees and no wind made for a very pleasant day.  If the 10 day forecast is correct, I will be playing some more before the month is over.  :-)

* My wife & I often walk local closed courses and today the private layout we hiked was in such nice shape I had to go out and find someplace to play.

I just got back from 4 days in Mexico...played three days in a row. It should help get me through the rest of the winter, especially if we get a few more warm weekends here in the Northeast.

You damn bastidge! Seriously, that looks really great!

This weekend I'm watching Pebble Beach, which is the tourney that, for me, really gets the juices flowing and the itch going! Has been for years! We're so close to March we can feel it, but that guarantees nothing. Still, pitchers and catchers report to Indians training camp tomorrow in Arizona, and there's light in the sky past 6 PM! Spring is coming!

Plus, we have a golf dome now! I try to get out there at least once a week to swing the sticks, and I put my hands on a grip every day. Sometimes I'll just take one out the back door and swing it for a few minutes. Last time we played was "warmish" day in December! Can't wait!

I feel so sorry for all you guys up North.  I went to the driving range yesterday.   It was 82 degrees, not humid but dry.  And there was a nice breeze, blowing out, so all my shots were going 10 yards farther than usual.   I spent most of my time just looking up at the blue sky, the fleecy white clouds, the green trees, their leaves rustling in the breeze.

You can feel sorry for me in August.

I can respect that, just can't identify with it anymore.  Just getting out to the range now.  Trying to remember which side of the ball to take my stance.

Here in the Delightful Mitten, I just played my 2nd round of February, yesterday, and the really nice weather (60's, sunny) isn't due until this coming weekend.  My expectation is any open courses will be zoos Saturday & Sunday so I had to make an effort to play one last time before the hordes descend on my little patch.  My depression is temporarily lifted.  ;-)

We have another cold day tomorrow, well actually today having just looked at the time. Then we are due for a near solid week of temps in the upper 50's to 60 degrees! Huzzah! Got an e-mail from a local upscale, daily fee course that they are open!

Yes, Saturday and Sunday will be a zoo, but my buddy and I are both retired, and seniors can play for $22 bucks on weekdays! We gotta get out there Monday when it's supposed to be 60! Gotta call him tomorrow and make tee times. Yes, yes, yes!!

It's going to be nice here this weekend, not warm but nice enough to play, 50's.

If only we didn't have 2 feet of snow on the ground, no way is all this crap melting by then, total bummer.

We are mid-40's now, the snow is gone, but the biblical deluge of water continues. Rain forecast for the next 7 days.

It was 30 this morning but with highs in the 70's the next 10 days things are looking up! Been a very light winter other than some blistering cold days. Only one day were we got a very light dusting of snow.

I'm going to try and dig out an area to set up my net this weekend. The backyard has about 2 feet of snow in it, but it is going to be warm in the 50s and it's light enough to get some work in after work.

It's been in the 60s here for the past two weeks or so. I'm definitely getting out this weekend. I have a bad feeling we're going to pay for this good weather now in March and April, though.

There's a local weatherman who, occasionally, likes to dole out little factoids about our recent weather and laid some on us last night. Since the onset of Winter (Dec. 21), we have had a TOTAL of 7 days without precipitation! We are entering a period of 5 straight warm, sunny days with no rain or snow. The last time we had 2 straight days without precip was November 2016, and the last time we had 3 straight was September 2016!

BTW, we have tee times for Monday! Yeah!

    • Well, if your frame of reference spins twice during the swing, then Bryson's ab/adduction is more like 780 degrees so there! (Yes I'm being silly, but not sure it's any sillier than what your pal Andy is doing...)
    • Update: Brandon Sorsby has decided to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft. He will not play for Texas Tech in the upcoming season.  From my perspective, I think he did the right thing. I hope he gets the correct help for his gambling addiction. I say the right thing, because I would be worried that the stress from all of this now and throughout the entire year would not be beneficial towards his mental health.  If an NFL team picks him up, then there really isn't any pressure for him to play immediately. He can work on himself and his game for the NFL.  From Texas Tech,  "Texas Tech will continue to provide the support and recovery resources Brendan requires on this journey. Furthermore, Texas Tech will not seek return of any amounts already paid to Brendan through his NIL agreements with the University," Campbell wrote. "We wish our best to Brendan, and we offer our prayers to him and his family as he chases his dreams at the next level. This has been an unbelievably painful experience for us all, but I know that his true, underlying character and lessons learned through this experience will ultimately bring him great success on the field of play and in life." Which, I also the right thing to do.
    • So, something I noticed yesterday at the range. My eyes and visualization of what the ball needs to do is way off. I put up an alignment stick about 10 yards down range. My initial thought was, "Oh crap". Even while wearing prescription sunglasses, and I know I am hitting it towards the sun, I couldn't pick up where the ball was at all.
    • Oh man. As you can see above, Manavian mocked me for not realizing they were getting the 130° from BOTH shoulders. Apparently, though, Manavian is also wrong, as Andy said I was lying when I cited what Manavian had written: The next thing Andy says that's both accurate and clearly stated will be the first. I replied to that post with something like: Tell Manavian who said "only counting the abduction/adduction of one shoulder rather than 2." One of the issues with “bad” information is that y’all can’t even get on the same page. You've not shown that Bryson has 130° range of motion in either shoulder separately P1 to P7. I’ve shown the numbers. You’ve name-called and just said “nuh uh” repeatedly. Did you see the AMG IG video? Of course you have. Wrapping your head around the distance the shoulder travels yet, Andy? Andy later commented to explain how he got his range of motion number (apologies to whoever @iacac and @icaca are on Instagram, who are going to be wondering just what in the hell they've gotten themselves into). Oh boy. Adding the numbers in one direction and then adding them again going back is not a "range" of motion. If I can bend my knees 140°, I don't claim to have 280° range of motion because I have two knees nor because I can also extend my knees 140° after bending them. Bryson (with a driver, again — I used his iron swing) abducts about 65° (and bends his elbow a ton) with the driver. Then he adducts 50… and then another 15°… to end up right back where he started. This is exactly the equivalent of saying that I bend my knees 140° and then straighten them, creating a range of 280°. It's so silly I don't even have much of a response. It falls down completely on its own. It doesn't need even a nudge.
    • Can't remember who but some wise guy said "Arms up, body around"..😉. Anywho, been working on pinning my lead arm less and less to my chest in the BS. Decent progress with the arms, need a lot of work and trust for the 'body around' part.
