Interesting that DeFrancesco considers Tiger more "stuck" in the new swing. His arms are more out in front in the 2001 video, but I wouldn't characterize the new Tiger swing as stuck, just a little more in.

The camera angles are off. So, this analysis of Tiger's swing fails right there.

:offtopic: I always wondered the difference between swings where you see the arms drop a little vs "staying up" as the downswing starts. If the arms drop, it would seem the arms are more "naturally" in.

He addresses the different angles and tries to compensate in the analysis. Whether he's compensating enough is beyond me, it sounded correct.

Tiger committed for the Genesis open at Riviera.  Doesn't hurt that his foundation is a driving force of this tournament.  I'm thinking he will go to Torrey and maybe to Pebble (another tourney his foundation hosts.)

I'm just hoping for a healthy year for Tiger.  No expectations other than him playing 12 or so tournaments and finishing the year without having to go into surgery.  Wins?  Top 5's?  Top 10's?  Sure, they are possible but I have low expectations for the first half of this year.  Him making as many birdies as he did in the Hero World Challenge was very encouraging though.

Fairways and Greens.

I don't know about Pebble. I think he hates the "am" part of that, the six-hour rounds, etc.

...and thus my "maybe"  :-)

I honestly can't even remember the last time he played in it.

I am a bit disappointed, 2 months no tournament? This way he will stay rusty, I think he needs to compete on a more regular base.

December has no other tournaments and he's never really played much in January. He will still be practicing and playing privately, so I don't think it matters all that much.

I wonder who won.

I'm pretty sure that Tiger can still take The Donald.

Unless, of course, his glutes stop firing.  Then all bets are off!  :-P
