Yep, from 79th to 67th. With this, he can get into top 50 at The Open without winning it.

The Open is next up for Tiger and will be his last chance at qualifying for Firestone. Don't know how high he will have to finish there, but it's a stronger field, so maybe inside top 10 will be enough?

I hope he does qualify for that tournament. That maybe the one course he absolutely owns. He's won it 8-times!

Im assuming he'll at least have to finish in the top 10 to jump into the 50s from 67. Which is possible the way he's striking it right now.

Can’t wait for his next tournament. It’s The Open isn’t it? I predict he will contend, I put him top 5 there.

Yep, unless he goes back on his claim that he won't add more tournaments to his schedule in order to help qualify for Firestone.

I believe if he were to win, he's automatically in, regardless of world ranking.

Seems to be so, but he'd also get in a few ways if that were the case. Winner, top 50, etc.

That info is older but probably hasn't changed much.

Tiger’s had more top 5 finished this season than Spieth. Boy I bet the Tiger haters are fuming over that fact.

Nah, like most facts like this, the major trolls just choose to ignore it. If they yell loud enough they cant hear the truth that Tiger is back to playing some pretty solid golf.

True...they’re the same type who really don’t get why Neymar gets hurt so often.

Firestone would be a nice addition to Tigers schedule, but what the tour is likely hoping for is that he plays well enough to play at East Lake.
That would mean playing 5 out of 6 weeks (6 out of 7, if he qualifies to play Firestone) ...... and then off to France for the Ryder Cup.

So if he make the field for WGC Firestone, does anyone get worried about Tiger playing too many tournaments?

Looking at the end of year schedule, it is a good thing they are retooling the event placement in future years

Players play, tough players win!

I guess it depends on how you define "my time."   Discerning readers may have noticed I'm a Tiger fan, but come on.  Tiger is so good that people who don't otherwise follow golf know who he is, and even watch him play if he's in contention.  That puts him in a class with Pele, MJ, Gretsky, Federer, and Lebron, which is pretty good company.  And you could make a case that he's had more impact on his sport than they have on theirs, what with Tiger-proofing courses and having most of the players spend more time in the gym than the bar, and he's done some very good work with his foundation.

But compared to guys like Muhammad Ali, or Jackie Robinson, who transcended sport not just in TV ratings, but in social impact, he's just not in that conversation.

Nice clip, and funny, but the thing that jumps out at me is how big Rashad looks compared to Tiger.  Tiger haters say he must be on roids because he looks like a linebacker, but here's a wide receiver, the smallest guy on the team, who looks like the Hulk next to Tiger.  I guess Tiger looks big next to Keegan Bradley, but I'd like to see him standing next to Serena Williams and see who has the bigger arms.

Put my bet down on Tiger to win the Open this year (21-1). D Johnson is the betting favorite. Woody was my best guess to win it, based on the money odds. I'm hoping his "stinger" iron play will prevail with the course being hard, and fast. He described the fairways as being firmer than the greens. If he wins, it will be a nice payday. If not, I am not out much.
