This morning practice included a chipping game I made up for my backyard.  Wedges, golf mat, two tennis balls, nine golf balls, and a hula hoop.  It was fun to keep score and increases my focus.

Small (30 balls) bucket at the range again today. Slow swings, making sure not to stop at A2 or A4 (not stopping at A4 is tough for me), and then swinging through. Mixed results when I step up to the ball -- some amazingly solid shots, and also some snap fades and some hooks. I think I'll get some video this weekend and check in with my teacher to see if I'm doing this right

I received a new video from evolvr last night so I spent about 20 mins working on my new mappping drill while watching the players.  Im going to hit a few balls outside after dinner and Ill probably work on the mapping some more.  I will also take some time practicing my putting a little later on tonight trying to get rid of the pulls and pushes.

Managed to squeeze in a little bunker practice, some putting, and some full swings. Mostly working on quieting the hands down a bit because I've been turning it over far too much lately.

Another nasty looking day and decided not to go play or go to the range but chipped in my backyard for a bit and practiced my putting stroke inside.

I attempted to play golf today, not sure if my attempt met any definition of the game.

Spent about 10 minutes on mirror work in my apartment.

Spent some time today working on my grip. Lessons planned for tomorrow, so I'm expecting to have a lot to work on soon.

I played a charity scramble today and spent 30 minutes at the range prior. Still working on making a centered hip turn. As a side note, it was the most impressive scramble performance (relative to skill) that I've ever been a part of. Our group was me, an 11.5 index, a 20, and a guy who doesn't maintain a handicap but would easily be a 40 if he did. We managed a 10 under from the white tees and 2 mulligans per person. Of course we didn't crack the top 3, but if the event were handicapped we probably would have won.

Lob Wedge Day - Trying to master the 58ª, spent half hour at the practice green.

Problems with distance control - it's just not yet the wonder club that Dave of Pelz Corner says it is. I need to pull through more with left hand... for some reason I have too much right in swinging this club.

Focus, connect and follow through!

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
