    • Tiger Woods in 2008 with Broken Leg

I go with Day on this one. I'm sure the announcers are making it as big a deal as they did with Tiger..

Day is a broadcasters dream come true.Β  It adds drama and a sub story to an already great tournament.Β  Everyone loves the underdog and Fox will continue to highlight Day's battle with vertigo until / if he falls out of contention.

Well, everyone just loves it when someone goes through extraordinary circumstance and prevails in the end.. That's what all good stories are made of.. No exception here right?

Went with JD on this one. Β Tiger hurt his knee several weeks before the open and had time to mentally prepare himself to play through the pain. Β Even though Jason Day has had issues with Vertigo before this basically hit him out of nowhere in the middle of the US Open forcing him to adapt on the fly

What's in the bag:
Taylormade R15Β
Callaway X2Hot pro 3W
Callaway X2Hot pro 20* hybrid
Mizuno JPX900 Tour 4-PW
Cleveland RTX 2.0 50,54, and 58 degree wedges
Taylormade White Smoke putter

As you know I voted Tiger and it is not even close. Tiger had pain just walking around. Jason Day feels a little woozy now and then. Yes that can be scary but it is not stopping him from making his golf swing. Tiger could not even practice much leading up to the Open.

JDay. Someone else mentioned adrenaline and pain killers which helped Tiger. No such relief for Day. I played baseball for 3 weeks with a broken 5th metacarpal. Hurt like hell while I wasn't playing but while on the field, I never felt a thing thanks to aspirin and adrenaline.

Everyone is talking about TW and his broken leg. He also was playing with a torn ACL. Which was probably even more painful.

Jason Day is not feeling the effects of his vertigo all the time either. It is not like he is walking around with the help of a walker because he can not even balance all the time. He is fine 99% of the time.

That didn't look like 99% of the time fine to me. He almost quit 3 times during the round because he was so nauseous. Can't imagine it but I do know a thing or 2 about playing with pain and it can be managed.

As one who suffers from vertigo, It is very difficult to maintain balance and swing a club. It is very difficult to putt with the ground feeling unsteady under your feet. Day is lucky he's not four putting. I've played in pain, and it can be managed. Vertigo is brutal. I'll go with Day.

Anyone saying Tiger's pain was dulled by pain killers.

"Watching Tiger on Thursday, I was first amazed that he finished the round," Vernon said. "Second, I was amazed he came back Friday to play. I couldn't believe how much pain he was in and how much he subjected his body to. That was special in itself. There was something remarkable about that.

Tiger played 91 holes with a torn ACL and a broken leg. He underwent reconstructive surgery on his left knee which came with a minimum of six months without swinging a club.

Dammit, now I wanna see a 18 hole playoff between gimpy Woods and unsteady Day, both walking down the fairway using their driver as a makeshift cane. :-D

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Tiger said in post round interviews, though, he took pain medication and it helped numb the pain. He also said it didn't hurt all the time, just certain times on certain swings. I don't know. It's hard to say which one's worse because we're not in their bodies and don't know what they're feeling or felt. Both players are troopers and should be commended for what they did and are doing, no doubt. Not to mention there have been other players with injuries and situations that are just as miraculous that aren't getting the recognition like these two.

There are broken legs you can walk on and ones you lie in agony with.

Nobody here has a clue how Day felt/feels just as noone has a clue what Tiger was really suffering.

Your broken leg and Tiger's broken leg are not comparable

Just as your dizziness/vertigo is not the same to Day's condition.

It's pretty hard to compare things you don't understand.

What's more, Tiger won. Day has played three rounds at time of poll.

I really fail to see the need to compare apples and oranges.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Anything to keep tiger relevant in a conversation? He was just cut from the open.

I want to vote for Ken Venturi ... They kept saying that doctors told him if he plays his final 18 he might DIE. Neither Tigers or Days injuries are life threatening AFAIK. ;)

I could be pulling this out of my Poulter, but I recall from Haney's book that Tiger didn't take pain killers during the round because he thought it would mess with his feel?

Advil and adrenaline are painkillers.
