My 2016 goals are:

FIR: 50%

GIR: 50%

Putts per hole: 1.6

20 rounds under 80

5 rounds under 75

I would like to move up one flight in my Club Championship and place in the top 2 in either gross or net.

Hopefully <5 Handicap . Currently I am a 7.3.

Career Low Round: 67 (18 holes), 32 (9 holes)

- Stay healthy and work on back strengthening (again).  Prostate cancer knocked me out for 10 weeks in 2015

- Get my soon to be unofficial handicap from 17.7 to 16.0.  I will keep my GHIN also to see how much of difference excluding rounds played by myself makes and in case I get an invitation to play Pine Valley (anyone?)

- Hit crisper short irons (the only ones I still use)

- Practice pitching and chipping more than 15 minutes/week

- Play 40+ rounds in 2016

I'm going to keep it simple for 2016.

Goals:

1. Play some golf.

Method:

1. Ensure that I schedule some golf time and golf funds to allow me to play some golf.

Anything beyond that will be a bonus over 2015.

My ball striking has improved a lot since last year though it hasn't had much to do with practice as I had very little time to actually practice and chose to play as practice instead of having a stand alone practice time.

Id like to work in one day where I can just hit balls and work on mechanics but what is most likely is spending more time around the putting green working on putting and pitching/chipping which is my biggest weakness

It is that time of the year. I  resolve to practice and play MORE golf. Do NOT let my wife know. This is a BIG SECRET!    In all fairness, I must treat my wife better----nice dinner on Valentine's Day, surprise rum cake from Florentine's when she least expects it, another surprise----all you can eat buffet at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino, etc. You get the idea!

Today is my last day at work.   The biggest resolution I have for 2016 is to make the retirement work.   Make it fun, make it so that I don't regret quitting my job for early retirement.   A big part of this is to organize my golf practice & game to be more structured and finally escape from playing bogey golf.

Play and practice more. Work on helping my 14 year old be the best high school golfer he can be. Have a more optimistic outlook on life and spend as much time with my family as possible

My 2016 resulution is the same as my previous 5 years. To be around this time of year again, next year, to be able to make my 2017 resution.

Their are priorities of course. Family, Grand Kids, and my out of doors stuff.

My golf game will get it's due attention. Their will be the Monterey/Bandon golfing road trip with some friends.  Fuel money will be exchaning hands on regular basis.

For me to break into single digits, I have to work on better contact with the 2nd shot.    Accuracy will be the focus - typically make decent contact, but my aim is poor, Particularly with wedges - bizarre.

For me I'm setting a goal of more golf practice and playing time.  I'm also going to do a better job of making more quality family time.

To get off the damn practice range and play more. Criminey, it's ridiculous.

Wow, congratulations on your retirement!

For me... Continuing to practice and get better. Play more golf... And music. Start taking lessons (up in Erie) and continue to do it on a regular basis. Learn enough of this game that I can help others and give back to the game and others.

Re-allocate my practice time more towards the short game.   Chip and putt my way to success.

Play more.

Try not to injure myself.  (Like I did on the practice range 2 days ago.)

Yeah, good idea. Meanwhile, I'm still trying to figure out what to write, as in more meaningful yet realistic goals. . .I seem to be more confident in the swing, chipping and putting skills, but scores are not really dropping drastically. Plus, I'm way more confident when I hit a tree or another fairway. :-D:-D:-D

My goal is to get 2.5 keys. Any combination or set of them, as long as they add up to 2.5 I'd be happy. Not sure how realistic this is, but it's a goal.

Joined a really big club. Hope to play in the monthly tournaments in 3 months, and do reasonably well in my "flight", whichever one I am assigned, by the end of the year. Starting off as an associate member for as long as I can, because I want to establish my HC properly per the new rules. Play for slightly higher stakes to force me to focus on every stroke with a wider group of players. Try my best on every round, practice, scoring or otherwise all the time. No more "lazy" or joke rounds.
