Disappointing finish today, but overall very impressive showing from Tiger so far.

Havent heard anything from announcers, but he looks like he's sore/in pain walking around to me. What do you guys think? Any pain whatsoever would have to be a major red flag, right?

Checked the scores, without those 2 double bogey holes at the end of Round 1. TW would be dueling out with Hideki. I'm pleasantly surprised with how TW is playing. Cheers to that! 2017 should be a great season to watch!

Has to be Tiger is getting fatigued unless the wind on the back 9 is a lot worse than the front.  On the shot he put into the water at 18, he seemed to be choking down on the club a lot and I said to myself that there's no way he's hitting that as far as he needs.

Love what I see from Tiger but tomorrow will be the most revealing day.  Tiger of old would have a shot to top 5 it and almost definitely finish higher than his current position (10).  Tiger of the last couple years would slide backwards a few and be out of the top 15.

Spoilers, if you're afraid of putting the whammy on Woods, do not click until tournament is finished.

Spoiler

Not to count chickens before they hatch, a 10th place finish would vault him from 900ish to to around 550 in the OWGR. If he finishes, around 750. So right now, somewhere between 550-750. Cross fingers back holds up, so far going a lot better than I had hoped. So goes the long climb.

Well he's got 9 shots and 6 players between him and 16th place, so I think he'll manage a top 15 without too much trouble tomorrow.  Then again, you never know.

Seems that 12.5 over/under number was a good call.

Lol Brandel...now the asshat is saying that a big lateral move off the ball is a good thing...all whilst using a shot of Matsuyama that's easily 30° ahead of face on square...

Tiger's got this tournament in the bag. No doubt he's gonna win this. Matsuyamma or whatever that guys name is WILL FALL apart. The GOAT, Mr. Woods, is back.

Are you saying when you're not watching he doesn't play as well?

Quite the opposite it seems.

Yes, I once again make a formal motion that @CarlSpackler is not to watch the tournamanet tomorrow; is there a second?

In all seriousness, I feel like there are many topics wherein we can get divided and discussions are heated, but Tiger's return this week seems to be the most unifying event for the forum over the past year.

Seconded.

@CarlSpackler can record it and watch it after Tiger makes a stunning comeback to win. ;-)

I thought a few times that he looked a bit stiff walking around (or reaching down to get the ball), but that's to be expected.  He's (almost) 41 years old.  His swing showed no signs of anything alarming, that's for sure.

I'm already excited for April...

How does Stenson get such beautiful torque and flushness on his ball? His divots are amazing

He hit a three wood approach onto one of the par fives today...seeing the size of the divot he took I immediately thought he must have fatted/mis-hit it. Nope, it flew 280 and landed soft to within 15 feet.

If I had taken a divot like that with my three wood off the deck, it would have gone 50 yards and I would probably need reconstructive back and/or wrist surgery.

Sorry. No DVR. It's live or nothing for me.

...and if there's golf on TV, I am usually watching it. Perhaps this would be a good time to start a Go Fund Me page to support cable service with DVR. :-D
