So, am at work and didn't get to watch any, but what's with pulls from the tee with the driver? I hope just fatigue.. I is worried. :-(

Tiger's follow thru is weird...It's like he's standing up and forward really early after impact. I mean, I'm sure it doesn't affect the ball since it's long gone, I'm guessing it's just to take pressure off the back.

Don't worry V, be Happy....  :-)

He indicated he was nervous about playing before the tournament.

The heebie-jeebies may have creeped into his head as the round started faltering.

He's back and that's a wonderful thing.......

They were hooks. Not pulls.

Overall a positive round for Tiger IMO. Taking into account how long he's been gone, where his game was last time we saw him and why he was absent. I think the "look" of his swing is pretty good; nice rhythm, well balanced, good speed. I didn't see any of those stay closed, hang back pop up with the right shoulder swings.

Biggest concern for me is the pitching motion, technique looks crappy. Shaft gets too steep, face doesn't rotate on the backswing, brings the leading edge too much into play.

Yes he missed it left today but it's better than a two-way miss and better for him to hit some overdraws/hooks than those huge blocks out to the right.

Thank you for the summary!! Exactly what I was hoping somebody would provide.. Now I can let the sound of chewing popcorn drown out what Chamblee will say.. :-)

This was a good summary of the day too:

http://www.golfdigest.com/story/tiger-woods-watch-live-updates-from-day-1-at-the-hero-world-challenge

A brief clip from that page:

Quote

Then Tiger teed up at 12:01 and. . . pulled his first shot into the left rough. If you bet on him missing the fairway on his opening tee shot (yes, that was an actual bet), congratulations. But at least he got that out of the way. As Woods walked off the tee, he took his sunglasses from caddie Joe LaCava and put them on. Again, we are going to try to cover his every movement.

At 12:13, Woods tapped in for a 2-putt par to complete his opening hole. He hit a nice approach shot to the front of the green, but was strong on his birdie attempt. And in case you're wondering, par was a heavy favorite for the outcome of his first hole.

And here's video of Woods' entire opening hole:

Another two-putt par on the 174-yard par-3 second. As far as we know, there were no betting lines for this.

My missed shots are these.

I missed live coverage but saw highlights. Overall I'm impressed with his game after such a long time away from tournament golf.

Isn't that what they call "old man finish"? Appropriately named. That's the last time I'll bring up getting on @colin007 :-D

I view this as a Victory! No withdrawal, no trunk slamming while grabbing the back, onlookers following a muted golfer wondering what the of the future.

Lol yes!! That's exactly what it looks like. I guess it's ok if it keeps my boy in play.

There goes a tee shot in the water. His tee game has been a bit off.

As they said on the broadcast, odd decision to use driver there when he didn't need to.

They also said it seemed like he was testing himself.

Which you can do in these ultimately meaningless events.
