Flop Shot Catch Challenge

Finally got around to doing this:

I got it on the first try tonight, but my camera was not set up properly. Took me about 5 more tries to get it the second time, which is this video.

Mike Sullivan challenges the play for "not above head height" and upon further review, the call on the green is overturned: not a successful Flop Shot Catch challenge.

I had in my head to get it above my shoulders, which I did. Not sure why I thought that, though. Anyways, I'll try it again and get it up the extra 6 inches to get it clearly above my head.

Tried again today.  I can hit it about 10 - 12 feet in the air but about 10 - 12 feet in front of me.  If I could have a designated base runner???

I don't know how anything less than 10' could be considered a flop shot... less than 10' is more of a chip (or chitch) than a flop shot. The first couple of videos, @iacasand @phillyk, those were legit.

I tried again today on a raised (sloped) tee box.   I won't quit but it isn't encouraging.  My 20 yard flop shot is definitely improving.  I used it today to jump over a sandtrap to a tight pin placement.

Just get a nice fluffy lie. It's harder to do off of flat ground. I mean I can hit it of a tight lie but it's much harder to catch.

I found it easy with hard ground and fluffy lie, because the bounce will help launch it more. I think mine went 10-12ft straight up. I took about 3 steps to get it. Just having the fluffy lie, i would scoop too much and the ball would barely get off the ground.

Just to show I'm trying, here is today's failed attempt. Keep in mind I most likely have a torn meniscus in my left knee but I felt it was my duty to try as a Staff member!
