We used to sneak on the local par 3 course to fish in the pond. Every so often we would bring a club and try to hit a ball. This was way before I ever had interest or knowledge in the game of golf.
Few years back I went to play the same course, paid my $12 for 9 holes and when I finished 9, I walked back over to 5 and kept playing. 5-9 is on the other side of a pond and away from the starter shack. There was no one on the course, I slept fine that night, my conscience is clear.

I have been invited by a member to golf at his country club. Sometime the invites are after a mid day round. We end up heading to the CC and teeing up around 6 and play until dark. sometimes I have paid for my round, when we get there late and the office is closed I don't pay, this is the suggestion of the member. Once again, I sleep fine, my conscience is clear!

Only one time. About 10 years ago I was teaching my then-girlfriend to play golf. We were at the chipping green at our local public course in the early evening and the pro shop had closed and there was no one on the course. The tenth hole, a short par-4, looked too tempting. Time for one hole before dark. So in her first-ever time on the course my girlfriend made a bogey 5, while I three-putted for a 6. For the next year she never let me forget that she won our one-hole match.

Many years before that I had a friend who snuck onto a municipal course about once a week. Because people doing so were a constant problem, the course employed rangers to patrol the course in the late afternoons to check the players' receipts. So my friend would always have about a hundred or so pieces of scrap paper cut to the same size as a receipt in the pocket of his golf bag. When the ranger stopped him, he would pull out all of the pieces of paper and start going through them ("I know it's in here somewhere"). My friend says the ranger always gave up after about a minute. I told my friend it was still trespassing and instead of the subterfuge he should just pay the 12 dollar twilite fee and play with a clear conscience.

Never to play golf but to fish, sleigh ride, and neck with the young ladies after dark before I could drive.

I used to work 3-9 pm at a WDW in Florida.  This left me mornings free.  I used to go to the course and practice/play everyday.

From the clubhouse they could not see the practice area where I would spend hours.  Being a resort course, u had to take a Cart.  What I would do if I wanted to play at all was wait for a three some to drive up to the tee.  Just as they were about to tee off and I could see a single was not joining them, I would go up and introduce myself and tell them they shop said they were coming and to hop on with them.

Worked like a charm...never caught.

On occasion I would pay for a round but it would be on a day off and I would bring the cart back at dusk.

To add insult to injury, I told them I didn't have a car and asked if they would store my clubs for me.  They did, for free.

Many years ago I went to a city owned nine hole course in Lansing in the late fall. Course was closed.  While I stood there trying to decide where else to go two teenagers came up to the chain link fence, dropped their bags on the inside and hopped over the fence.  I dropped my bag over and climbed/fell to the inside.  We played nine together and had a good time.  Inner kid took over that time.

Hey, Tlazzol ! Lansing guy here myself 🙂

Voted no, fellas, though it's tempting to. I have, however, paid for 9-holes and played close to 18 a couple of times. 😕

Sure back when I was young and broke. Public course not known for being in the greatest shape. Played 2 balls,11 through 17. Would do it an hour before sunset. Pretty much practice for the weekend. Learned to hit a lot of shots with no one watching or rushing me. Usually wound up playing till it was dark. For a while some others were there too, some well known Memphis players, we had a little game for a while. In a way it is one of my favorite memories of my younger days.

I once played a course in the middle of January in Maine that was closed, but we had an unseasonably warm January and a bunch of us went out and played it.  We were playing with members of the course, but technically I guess that would make it a yes.

At my regular home course and range, when it's 6:30 pm or so, I will ask the pro shop if they don't mind if I play holes 4,5,6 before going home if no one is on them.

that's not sneaking, that's being honest and asking

It's amazing what just asking upfront for something might do

In HS I trespassed onto my home course on two different occasions with 2 different female companions. The second time was a little more romantic than the first and involved a candle, a bottle of wine and taking things slower. That one is now my wife.

Now that I mention it, made a pit stop one nite with the wife to do some " nite putting".   It's still my home course too.  I've actually had to play a few shots off of the EXACT same spot...sort cool if u ask me.

I haven't done it, but there's a country club nearby that has a par 3 course and one of the holes backs right up to a road I take to work every morning.  Sometimes I think about biking up there with a couple irons and playing that hole, but I don't think I ever will.

    • Day 206 3-11 Focused on wider backswing and reconnecting arm in downswing. Wasn't really happy with how swing was looking today. Wider backswing is very different for me. Went back to do a some longer pauses at the top. Hit a few foam balls.
    • This is an awesome breakdown. most of the bigger tournaments usually have one wave with the advantage, Thank you for the breakdown. If it is soft then it will be a lower final score
    • Over the past 15 years, the winning score has ranged from -10 to -20. Mostly around -13.  Here is Thursday and Friday weather. Saturday and Sunday weather. I think the course will play soft. Plenty of sky cover, lots of rain on Thursday. Fairways and greens will probably stay soft throughout the week.  In terms of tee times, I think Thursday morning and Friday afternoon have the biggest advantage. I bolded the big group of each set.  Most beneficial with the weather Round 1: No. 1 tee, Round 2: No. 10 tee 7:40 a.m., 12:30 p.m.: Mark Hubbard, Thorbjørn Olesen, Mac Meissner 7:52 a.m., 12:42 p.m.: Bud Cauley, Vince Whaley, Chandler Phillips 8:04 a.m., 12:54 p.m.: Emiliano Grillo, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Max Greyserman 8:16 a.m., 1:06 p.m.: Kevin Yu, Cam Davis, Gary Woodland 8:28 a.m., 1:18 p.m.: Ricky Castillo, Ryan Gerard, Patrick Cantlay 8:40 a.m., 1:30 p.m.: Adam Schenk, Garrick Higgo, Matt McCarty 8:52 a.m., 1:42 p.m.: Brian Harman, Maverick McNealy, Davis Riley 9:04 a.m., 1:54 p.m.: Sami Valimaki, Lucas Glover, Matt Fitzpatrick 9:16 a.m., 2:06 p.m.: Michael Brennan, Harris English, J.T. • We have a very difficult but mostly showy course this week. Lets see what they got. This course offers so many chances to get into trouble it is really a mental minefield. I am excited to see who can handle it and who cant. Last year we got a foreshadowing of JJ and Rory, I am excited for this year Who do people have winning? what will the winning score be? I am thinking 12 or 13 under
