Golf Rangefinder Recommendation

Hello guys!

I've occasionally had the opportunity of playing golf and always had amazing, memorable experiences.

Now I decided to pick it up as a serious hobby but really don't know much about it, hope that you guys help me.
I decided I am going to get a golf rangefinder but not sure which one is good. Saw some great options and compared on another. And thinking to take  Bushnell Tour V3 Golf Laser Rangefinder.
I've set a budget of $250 for the golf rangefinder what do you guys recommend?

The budget of $250 may be limiting.   I don't believe you can go wrong with Bushnell.   The V3 is an older model but still a good choice.   That may be available within your budget if you can find one.  

Leupold makes good range finders but are usually priced a little higher.

After using a rangefinder, you'll be glad you have one.

If you wear glasses or sunglasses on the course, you may prefer the LaserLink rangefinder. You don't need to put your eye up against the eyepiece,  Hold it several inches away, aim the red dot and release the trigger. Works for me.

I have to second Leupold range finders. I have used almost every range finder on the market and my Leupold is just flat better than the rest. Wait a month or two save up your money and buy a Leupold.

Think about getting a gps unit instead. I love my garmin s6 watch. I use it on pretty much every shot, whereas my friends with their rangefinders pull them out like 5 times a round.

I use my laser on just about every approach shot.

I have an inexpensive Leupold, GX-2i.².   I really like it, it's fast and easy to use.    The guys in my foursome are always asking me for distances.  

I use it for almost all of my approach shots, like @iacas

Another Leupold guy here (GX-3i): I love the small size, quick reading and bright screen. I turn off the beep on lock: it's a gimmick anyway for those who don't know how to aim properly with a rangefinder (hint, make a tripod with your forehead and elbows in your side). In the right hands, you get a reading in under a couple of seconds, and that includes taking it out of its pouch. So much for those who claim that rangefinders are a cause of slow play, lol.

I use it on pretty much every approach shot, but also from the tee on every par 3 (where there is the most variance from the distance on the card) and even for some tee shots to get distance to hazards and bunkers, or to find out how far down the fairway the previous group is...

ETA: The battery (CR2) lasts maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of the whole year, and I play over 100 rounds per year, so you are not fiddling with recharging batteries all the time, either.

Ok, ill check out the Leupold rangefinder. If possible can anyone suggest some model name of Leupold rangefinder? Price doesn't matter if needed then ill wait for one or two months. But I want one that will last for two to three years.

I've had a GX-1 for a long time. I had one issue and they replaced the whole unit. This was after the warranty was up. I think you should choose by what features you want.

I've had my Bushnell for at least 5 years, and use it on about every shot over 40 yards or so.  No reason for it to wear out if treated well.  OTH, my golf buddy who first bought one the same time as I did has been through two lasers and a GPS in that amount of time ... he seems to enjoy donating them to a group somewhere behind us

I have the Bushnell Pro X2. It was a bit pricey but it's seriously built like a tank. Metal case and water proof. So long as it's well taken care of, I imagine it will last for several years. They are well worth the investment.

Precision Pro. I have the NX7, it was $199.The pro version is $249, has slope built in, personally I'm not good enough for that to matter so went with the mid-range model. You also get free battery replacement for life.

This is me too. I have a Garmin Fenix 3HR that shows front/middle/back for holes and am getting my Garmin Approaches S60 today which has more detail. I totally get how @iacasuses his and many of my friends do too in a similar fashion. I’m also just not good enough to merit perfect distances for shots so the general distances with a GPS device is perfect for me.

I have a Bushnell V2 - I use it on every shot pretty much (I don't play the same course very often in a season).  Hell, I'd laser my putts.  I have decent distance control/repeatibility so it pays for itself constantly - the Bushnell is the most important single piece of equipment in my entire bag - no exceptions.  I'd rather play a round without my putter vs not having spare batteries for the rangefinder.

There are a LOT of laser finders on line.  Some quite a bit cheaper now with great reviews.  I'd search Amazon a bit for the deals and then try to find a few in person to see if they are decent enough for the job.

Getting one for the wife for Christmas.  Thinking about the TecTecTec VPRO500 - only $150 brand new. 

The Bushnells are really expensive.  But if you are willing to put out $250 - $300, they are top notch.  Heard good things about the Leupolds, too
