How does everyone warm up before a round? I often play at courses that do not have ranges, so I cannot go hit balls at the range to get loosened up. So when you play at a course without a range how do you get ready for the first tee? I find that if the course I'm playing has a range and I get to warm up and hit my driver a little I have a better day than if I cannot.

I hit a few into the net in the backyard before leaving for the course. Gets the mind and body tuned into golf swing mode just as good and I'm not dropping an extra $5 on every round for range balls.

I try to at least hit a small bucket of balls to just get the muscles to work in the right way. Then I'd hit short game shots focusing on the thoughts I want for that. Then I finish up by practicing 15 foot putts, and some distance putts.

Well I usually go straight from work so I can't do this. I'd just try to swing a club with out a ball. Then hope you can find good contact on the course.

That's pretty much what I do now, usually the first hole is a lost cause when I have to do this though. For example this past week I played a 9 hole course that you play through twice, on hole #1 I got a double boggie with 2 topped shots, the second time around I pared it.

Get an Orange Whip. Our club champ put me onto this. She has one and swears by it. Low handicapper. Sometimes we don't get time to hit a practice bucket. We get called to the tee early in my league and while the other foursomes are hitting I can be swinging that loosening up my old bones.

Maybe get one of those plastic wiffle golf balls, tie a string to it and anchor it into the ground with a tee, then put the ball on a second tee, and take a few swipes at it in an inconspicuous spot behind the pro shop before heading off to the first tee. It could be easily carried in the bag for anytime you need it.

If there is not a range, I will find a place to chip ... just something to swing a club and "get the feel" for hitting a ball ...

Usually, it's 3 or 4 practice swings on the first tee.

Stretch out a bit, practice swings, tee it up.

I do like to hit the range the night before a round though, just a small bucket before bed.

I need to warm up, as of now I get to the course and hit my first tee shot typically without more than a few swings. Because of this I either start out hitting it great or horrible with no rhyme or reason.

I generally bend down and put the tee in the ground on the first tee box.

got the skilz version of the whip and has helped my game in just the few short weeks I have had it. Hit my driver straight as an arrow now compared to the previous nasty slice I produced. Nice and heavy for getting muscles stretched to provide good loose range of motion.

I have had a bad back for more than 30 years and have developed a series of exercises and stretches that I do every day. Being retired, I like to play early, so the exercises do loosen me up a bit.

About half the time I go to the putting green and stroke a few putts. Other than that, I swing my driver a half dozen times, and then tee it up.

I put a dough-nut weight on my driver and take a few swings when I can't warm up.  I usually bend at the waist and touch the ground in front of my toes to loosen and stretch my legs & back out some.
