In my golf bag, turned off. I'll check it at the turn to see if Warren Buffett called me asking for advice.

Mine is in the cup holder on vibrate, I get called for work at any time and have to be able to answer all calls.

I just have Warren call my girl, who is sitting in my car in the parking lot. She comes out to get me when  he calls.

Usually in my bag, sometimes in my pocket if I'm listening to music or podcasts (which is nice, but only really practical if I'm not paired up with anyone). I keep it on, not on silent. My phone only chimes when I get a call, and I basically only get calls in emergencies. Obviously if I were playing a tournament I'd have it silenced and tucked away in the bag.

I use it for gps/stat tracking so it's in the cart on silent.

I played for a long time before cellphones and the many incarnations it has gone through,  and I realize there are apps available for distances and advice to play a particular hole. I have very simple cellphone and the only one I call or from whom I get calls is my wife.  I have never even texted a message.  My phone remains in the car.  I use it when I am out doing the groceries or errands or on the road for CAA/AAA.  I plan on being the last man in Canada not totally in the electronic watch (only partially).  Someday I might even consider facebook, but I doubt it. Meanwhile I read sprinkler heads if they are there and estimate my distance based on the 3 yardage sticks on each hole.  So far so good.

If it's the weekend, I leave the bloody thing on the charger back home.

If its during the week, I leave it in the car hidden under a pile of crap on the passenger seat. Note: it's a cheap one, so not a real big risk anyway.

i put mine in my bag, usually in a top pocket so i can check it every third hole... and yes i put it on silent...

It is what it is

In bag, on silent mode.  I'd just turn the thing off but I want to see who called and if I have any messages from work as my phone rings when I get a work voice mail.  But it doesn't leave a message.  But if I see my work number I know somebody has called.

I yell at anyone in my group who doesn't put their phone on silent or leaves it in the cart so I can hear the goddamn thing vibrate.

"Witty golf quote."

In the bag on silence mode.

I don't play with gps systems, call it old fashion but, i still use

the 3 distance markers 200M 150M 100M as my distance guide.

Sunday at competition we play a FBBB in morning round, my team mate

uses a bushnell and gave me the distance but i didn't switch clubs a single time

Locker. Golf course I play does not allow cell phones.

LOL.....what a load of crap.   No doubt a rule that isn't enforced......and I don't care what CC you belong to.   This is a load of BS.............

Please keep in mind, I am a golfer that believes any golfer on the course with a ringer turned on....shall it ring out loud, he/she should be removed from the course.   With that said, your statement is ludicrous and not realistic.   I don't care if it's Augusta National or Pine Valley........I promise you the golf patrons stay connected!  LOL  (if in a silent way)

And I'll guarantee you that not everyone sees the world your way.

The higher end the club.......the more likely they have a phone close by.

I am just a regular golfer schmuck.......if I play Saturday/Sunday at 630am during prime season, .the phone stays in my bag on silent.  I may look at it once making the turn. When I play mon-fri........it stays on me...(on silent)   To suggest golfers that play more exclusive clubs will disconnect...........is pure BS.
