It shouldn't be a surprise to see him in this position, more than a few people have been saying watch this guy.

Willett with a bloodless and bogey-less final round, totally deserves this.

I said someone would get to 5-under, and that it would take close to the best round of Danny Willett's life to shoot 67 if it was going to be him. The boy delivered what the others couldn't.

The way he was smacking the green with his putter yesterday was a bit prickish.

Yes, but the size of the putter head and the grip aren't necessarily helpful.  There's a lot to be said for a putter you can aim correctly and a grip that fits -- larger isn't always better.

I would think if it helps one, it will help the other.

Happy to stand corrected. My understanding after my putter fitting was that a large proportion of players play grips that are too narrow, with the fatter grips limiting the amount the wrists affect the putter face. Based on the number that Rory and DJ pull/push, I'd have thought this would be part of it rather than them constantly misreading them.

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

Did anyone choose Willett in the Ping contest?

Amazing how Spieth's demeanour has changed a bit now he's chasing - much more likeable when he's focused and just goes for it a bit more rather than the guy who second-guessed himself a million times when leading.

    • Day 7 - Mirror work, trying to hit that PGA-logo position in my follow through. Mirror really helped, need to film soon.
    • So hit the😝 irons crooked AND play layup golf?? Hahaha.. no thanks. I would rather stay home. 😊
    • First - glad to see these popping up again. Now to the topic at hand - I would rather be option 1.  If I know how far it's going (I mean a yard or two) I can always play to the wider parts of the fairway and/or the green and still do reasonably well.  Now if I could just really hit the "number" that well.
    • Day 2 (10 Mar 25) - Long day of driving to dr appt with son.  Thankfully got in one of my fave putting drills (two ball side by side) - the goal to have both balls come off the putter face equally by having them come off the putter face as close to the same time as possible.  First few rolls - the toe was leading the way as that ball flew off the face.  By the end of the drill both balls were basically equal off the face, rolling to within a couple of inches of each other.  Nice drill of focusing on squaring the face.  BTW - I was using the old Odyssey DF992.
    • Day 161 - 2025-03-10 Got a decent, long session in. Focused mostly on the backswing feels, and moved on toward the end of the four hours (not all hitting balls, I installed a motion sensing light switch in there too, and worked with a student over FaceTime for a bit) on the downswing feel.
