Fired from his job? Um, no. Punishment needs to fit the crime, a good punch to the face would've sufficed.

The story was kind of vague on that.  I see where it said that him getting fired from his job is a harsh punishment, but I don't actually see where it says that that happened.  It just jumps from Poulter notifying them to the authors opinion.

Regardless, I would probably lean towards agreeing with you but would wait until I found out more.  His employer sounds like a sports media network of some kind, so maybe they're more involved with this than if he was just, say, a truck driver or something.

Never liked Poulter. He's was always a different version of Sabbatini I thought.

If the guy did got fired that's way too much revenge. Perhaps I will cruise on over to twitter for some light hearted fun.

This is why drunks shouldn't ever tweet.  Per his own description, he's " Assistant Athletic Director for Development at Florida Southern College"  His twitter page specifically includes his employer, so when he brags about acting like a buffoon, it directly reflects on his employer.  If he had his own private account, he can publicize his stupidity  all he wants.  When he brings his employer into the picture, there SHOULD be consequences.  I wouldn't suggest he be fired, but there should be some kind of discipline. Don't start a fight if you don't want to be punched in the face.

Yes, wondering as well. Thought I missed it somewhere.

And if I'm not mistaken, part of the job of an assistant athletic director is going to be a lot of media relations and PR stuff - so I would reiterate that I can certainly see why this type of employer would take this a lot more seriously than would a trucking company or an engineering firm or the owner of a Subway franchise, etc, etc.

I find the hecklers at golf tournaments really annoying.  I wish they would just be quickly kicked out of the tournament.

If these guys get fired it's not Poulter's fault.  One way or another, their employer/manager/CEO was going to see the post.

He has four kids and only one nanny? Poor guy. They ought to raise the purses on the tour(s) so he can afford a decent lifestyle.
