But look at all the guys missing the cut every week. They're not missing the cut because they couldn't putt or scramble, they're missing it because they can't get off the tee or can't hit it close enough to the pin.

I like the dot and grid graphics they show on the greens from time to time. If they put it on all the time it could get distracting, but I think it helps.

How do you know that!?  That's just a huge assumption.  If they putted and scrambled better they would make the cut...

It's almost as if the tour keeps these statistics and makes them available to the general public...

I don't think anyone is disagreeing that to WIN on the PGA Tour you have to putt well. 

That's not the point of the "long game is more important than short game" argument.  Putting is important, just not as important as ballstriking (this has been posted many, many times on the site).

It's disgusting how easy DJ made that fairway bunker shot look...

Dunno, it was only a yard or two out and he still has a birdie putt. Could have been much worse!

The US Open web leaderboard (http://www.usopen.com/en_US/scoring/index.html) is lagging behind the telecast by many minutes. Garcia birdied the 5th a while ago. Typically with majors the web page is on the order of seconds behind the telecast. First world problem, I suppose:

Just like the hockey analytics scene...  Some new stat comes out with no historical data and you just assume it's the bible.  

I'll watch the tournaments instead of assuming stats paint the whole picture.

      OK - I think we should narrow down a weekend, and start there.  We're going to try to do this in June.       Hole in one is nice, but those low rounds stick in my memory better. I have two holes in one (and a third on a pitch and putt course which I count as a half). I've shot in the 60s three times in the last 10 years or so and I remember each one pretty well. I'd take the low round.

      Would You Rather #68: Would you rather make a hole-in-one on a perfectly struck shot, during a round where you otherwise played pretty poorly.  or  Would you rather play well all day and beat your personal best by let's say 3 strokes, but with no eagles.    I'd take option 2.   Although option 1 is always exciting, and rewarding. playing well all day is very exciting because I can also do the opposite.
