Shortest odds from various bookies around the globe.Today.

DJ 5/1,  Spieth 13/2,  Mcilroy 13/2,  Matsuyama 16/1

Day 16/1  Rahm 18/1  Fowler 18/1   Rose 22/1

Phil 25/1  Stenson 25/1  Scott 25/1  J.Thomas 30/1

Obviously most money going on the first three.

Will be rooting for Phil,Sergio, the Beef and Rory with my heart. Zach Johnson at 100/1 would be a good outside each way bet.

Looking forward to it.Such a pity Tiger won't be playing but better to withdraw and give someone else a chance who can actually complete a round.

Old guys rule. Langer 600/1   Mize 5000/1.

It's worth reminding, that Tiger withdrawing doesn't "give someone else a chance".

Well, it gives someone else a spot in the field, which is kinda, sorta a chance.

As far as DeChambeau goes, I never drank the Kool-Aid. OK, he's 104th on the money list. Another way to look at it is that he's 22 spots away from losing his card! Definitely not swimming with the big fish.

No it doesn't.  Tiger is qualified for an invitation as a past champion.  His "spot" doesn't become available to someone else if he decides not to play.

Here is the complete list of qualifying criteria.

Well based on Rahm's performance this last weekend and last few weeks, I'd throw him in the pot for doing really well this next week. I also heard, not too sure, that he plays a lower than average ball flight which will do him well in the forcasted wind.

As strong of a player as he is, there is a bit of a learning curve to play Augusta National well.  He may do ok, but I wouldn't put money on him to win, place or show.

Course management or the way you approach it should be the same course to course. In terms of tee to green, id expect him to be the same as he's done recently. The big question is how he handles the slopes of the greens. As to that, its about how well he studies them in the practice rounds.

The current forecast looks pretty good for the week, with the exception of today and Wednesday and potentially the par-3 event.
If this holds true they will get plenty of rain, but ANGC can shed water pretty well.

Yep.  I can't remember who said it, it may have been Jack, but you don't read the greens at Augusta.  You remember them.

I know I'm not the only one glad to have a Hat-less Masters but I will give him credit: he's made the cut in the last three events he's played and has had some good rounds in those tournaments.  My guess is he stopped worrying about sensor data and just went out and practiced.  If anyone drank the "technology automatically makes everything better" kool-aid, it was him.

Monday forecast 2017 Masters.JPG

Forecast looks good precipitation wise. TWC is predicting 20-30mph winds with higher gusts on Thursday and Friday. Over par winning is a possibility.

My initial wind pick is always Rickie because he flights the ball so well. And when he's on, he drains 5-7 footers with as much confidence as anyone.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the mix but as has already been said, I think the wind makes trying to predict a winner even more of a crapshoot than usual. With a course that usually rewards high towering approach shots, it'll be really entertaining to watch if the wind blows 15-20 mph the first two days.

Just saw a report that players & spectators have been pulled off the course. Feeling bad for those with only Monday tickets, but not that bad as I'm stuck in my 70° and fluorescent environment.

That would be a good prop bet. I'll go with under par the winner will be.

The official Masters site posted a video of Woods' 1997 final round, and although there's no download option, it is surprisingly easy to download, I guess because it's in SD so no one really would buy it. There are also Arnold Palmer's rounds too.

I'm really glad they posted that. Finding full tournament footage of older tournaments is pretty hard, and this was a pretty historic round too.

    • Day 211 (29 Nov 24) - Friday men’s round albeit a solo foursome (temps in the 40’s, day after Thanksgiving and the average age closer to 75 - I’m a youngster at 65).  Interesting day of semi-solid play (8 of 18 GIR). Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
