This is the worst example of abusing power and ownership.

What example does this set for new golfers and youngsters.

Shows ZERO respect for the men and women who care for that golf course so others may enjoy fabulous conditions.

Do you know that this is someone with power or ownership?  Or perhaps its simply some careless or clueless SOB.  Of course its wrong, but why the first sentence?

It's Donald J. Trump driving the cart across the green of his course in Bedminster, NJ.

Some owners feel a sense of entitlement,
Some believe that the rules don't apply to them, or they are above them.
It certainly shows a lack of respect for the course, the game and the other golfers.
But then again how you behave on a golf course says alot about the type of person you are!

Man, I wouldn't care who was driving the cart, president or no, I'd yell at them.  Golf cart tires are not designed to be on greens, it could very easily tear them up.  It's not even about being able to afford to pay the damage fees, it's that that type of carelessness can ruin the enjoyment for everybody if the greens get torn up.

Private Property - the owners can do whatever they want - even have their own rules different than the rules for others.  I even put my feet on the my couch but don't let visitors do it.  The fact that it sucks (IMO) doesn't change that.  The fact that it's a terrible business choice (IMO) to do that in front of customers sucks doesn't change that.  The fact that (IMO) it adds cost to course maintenance doesn't change that.  Customers can go elsewhere if it's a deal breaker.

Your comment seems to be a bit of a strawman, much like the threads about Open venues not allowing women. I don't see anyone arguing the fact that it's his course and he can make his own rules, but we can probably all agree it's a ridiculous thing to do.

True story.

I was volunteering at Crandon Golf Course on Key Biscayne back in late 2013, and Trump came to play the course. We were cart path only that day due to wet conditions, and by the 4th hole he was driving down the middle of fairways. I heard the radio traffic - "A certain guest is not using the cart path..." and the like. We all knew who they meant. Finally a ranger went over to Trump's group to remind them that it was path only today.

The ranger got fired for that.

For those of us that understand private property rights, sure.  But there's a lot of people that don't 'get it' as the norm for certain social philosophies (and you just KNOW who wants to make hay with this video)- so it's a good reminder for them.  Just consider this heading it off at the pass.

I think there is an overestimation of the amount of damage a golf cart can do. It weighs about 600 pounds and has smooth tires (maybe your course has knobby tires mine does not) while a triplex greens mower has 3 wheels and weighs about 1300. I wouldn't make a habit of it and people who are careless and slam on the brakes or make sudden turns would cause damage but driving straight across would be less pounds per square inch than the mower and possibly less than walking depending on the golfer's weight.

You just don't do that.   I don't care of you own the course, you just don't drive your cart on the green.

Sure the owner can do whatever he wants, so what?  To me this is not about property rights at all, it's about character.  I doubt Reagan would do this, nor Bush or Bush Sr.  It's not about politics either.

    • Day 33 (13 Dec 25) - Worked on weight shift and resetting the left heel during downswing (after listening to a discussion on Golf School this morning on PGA Tour Radio).  It centered on how Jack Nicklaus lifted his lead heel and how long driver champs do as well.  Taking cues from that discussion, worked an exaggerated feel of the left heel working doing some swing drill in the backyard using the 7i.  Wrapped up the session by hitting a few low bump and run shots in the backyard - keeping the process slow and exaggerated.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
