The one surprising thing I found in that link is that Bubba Watson is so disliked?! I can understand Reed but what's not to like about Bubba??

I don't blame the patrons for not rooting for Reed (as long as they were respectful, clapped when he holed out etc, you can't expect them to feign enthusiasm) , but I hope Reed uses his newly enhanced profile to relax a bit and soften his image. I think there's a good guy in there, but he gets wound up when he thinks people are against him (the Speith comment being an example) and it ends up being a self fulfilling prophesy. 

Either way, whatever you think of him, it was a well deserved win for him after a strong battling final round.

 Really enjoyed the last day was shaping up brilliantly with Reed not getting too far away from the brilliantly chasing Fowler Spieth .... how good would have been for 3way -14 tie on the last hole >>> that would have been a mindblowing playoff of steel nerves

Fair enough, although I think those videos just show that he sometimes struggles to control his temper , a flaw it may be, but it doesn't make him a bad person. 

I think he's a good guy. It was great to see him there after the 18th to congratulate Reed.

I was rooting for Folwer to win because I really like him. However, Patrick Reed played a wonderful round and congrats to him. I know he has some personal issues to deal with but that is off the course.

Rahm is quickly moving over to my “Do not like” list. I understand having a little bit of a temper on the course...a lot of players have it....but  his is a bit immature and over the top. Throwing a club because you hit it 15-feet away from the hole on 16? Come on. 

As for Reed, I like him a lot more than I used to. He’s become more positive and less cocky in interviews and his demeanor on the course. I hope Rahm will follow suit as he gets older.

I guess I can see why some folks don’t like Reed but I love the guy, I love that he’s a bit cocky and he definitely doesn’t lack confidence in his own talent.

Congrats to Patrick Reed, the 2018 Masters champion! I did some reading up on him yesterday and even the Golf Channel is repeating this stuff about his past. Let me say this: I have raised 4 children who are now 24 to 31 years of age. Maturity takes time. Patrick is 27. How many young college kids have make mistakes and have regrets? I know that I did.

Leave this young man alone when it comes to youthful transgressions. How many of us could withstand this level scrutiny?

Some of those questions asked to both Reed and Rickie were terrible.

I feel bad for Rickie, the guy made a great run at Reed, ended up with a better score than Jordan, but was constantly asked about both Reed and Jordan. I would have liked to see Rickie say something like, "Did you see the leaderboard, who was solo second, how about asking about my round."

Are you serious? Since October 2017, in stroke play tournaments, the WORST finish he has is T16. Also has a win and two runner ups.

• #7 in FedEx Cup points
• 5 top 10s out of 8 events

• 14th in strokes gained around the green 
• T14 in strokes gained putting
• Has the lowest actual scoring average on tour at 68.75 (the ONLY player who is averaging under 69)

Please tell me how he is so overrated, the facts simply dont agree with you.

After the first 14 holes yesterday, Rory had missed SEVEN putts inside 10 feet and FOUR putts inside 6 feet. Thats really, really bad, and doesnt have much to do with his long game. Whether the putts were for eagle, birdie, or par saves, the fact still stands, seven misses inside 10 feet and four misses inside 6 feet. 

On 5-10 foot putts this year, McIlroy averages making 63% of them. If he would have just made 4 out of the 7, hitting his average, that drastically changes the final round, without changing a single thing about any of his full swing shots.

Not disagreeing with you on the putting. My point is that his long game hasn't been anywhere near his best. 66% GIR and being way out of position off the tee at 6 holes (1, 5, 7, 8, 13, 15) would support that.

I also wonder whether we overstate Rory's excellent ballstriking. Compared to Reed, Rickie and Jordan over the weekend, it's not even close.

Reverse seems to be true of Rory - he just goes into his shell a bit.

For me, the killer was missing the green with a wedge on 3, leaving that really tough up and down, whilst Reed made the birdie putt - had he got par, eagle, birdie, it might have all been different.

The scores are always going to be higher on average the first two days, because so many guys have no business being there. Seemed like without the wind on Thursday and Friday mornings, the course played very easy tee to green for the players. It looked like the only trouble the players had was when they were above the hole with some putts.

There's been conflict in the family for quite a while now and by the sounds of it, it's a very delicate situation where Reed's wife and family in law are bashing Reed's parents. We don't know half of it just from articles of course, so we're in no position to point fingers to anyone, but it's a very unfortunate situation. I hope they get things resolved and can proceed without more drama.

Meh. I kinda do that do. I replant my lead foot in a different place from where it began when i start my downswing. I dont know why. Probably has something to do with coming to golf from baseball. Ive gotten to be a pretty decent player with the quirk so i dont worry about it.
