Downswing Rule #1 - Don't Hit Your Instructor

That is on the instructor. He should be more aware of what he is asking the student to do.

I can't tell if he asked her to hold something or he just walked up during her swing without warning, but it seems like it's pretty much his own fault.

First year I helped with junior lessons at my course I caught one in the thigh. You learn quickly, the ball can come off the club in some strange ways. OUCH!

I was hit once, I think, and I have no earthly idea what the student was thinking because I was standing in the same place for about 30 seconds and was very clear in my instructions.

Fortunately it caught me with the shaft about where my belt was. A bit lower (or higher, but lower would be worse) and I would have been in some pain.

Sure seems like it's the instructor's fault.

A stiff drink will cure that headache, though.

Reason #3,867,452 to cure my steep downswing.

But yeah, that's on the instructor unless she ignored a verbal "stop stop stop" instruction. But he walked into the path of the club when she was swinging.

Reminds me of when I was coaching my kids baseball team. My kid could NOT keep his back foot down. So he's hitting off a tee and I lay down behind him and hold his foot down so he can feel what "DOWN" means. First few swings off the tee were good. Then he swings and drops the bat for some reason.... that left a mark.

Coaching ain't easy apparently.

Well, we all know what is said about Asian drivers! 

When I was in high school, the golf coach had a practice area set up in the "upper level" of the gym, with mats and war surplus parachutes as nets. There was another kid trying out who was built like Craig Stadler, only "thicker", if you can imagine that. I saw him cast a long iron so badly that he hit the hardwood floor behind the mat, and sent a big chunk of wood, the mat, and everything else into the netting! 

This dude was built like the Hulk, and was incredibly strong. Unfortunately, golf was not his game!
