If there’s one course that’s a good fit it’s the Old Course. Tiger plays well there and it’s flat. If the course is dry and hard he might be worth an each way bet.

I figured this is why he’s skipping Brookline. I’ll report to TST on the course as I’m going Thursday with my wife. Most courses around here do have hills.

Yeah, I almost wish he'd have not played the PGA, but maybe he really had to test himself out.

I'm curious too about the JP McManus thing he's playing before the British Open.

If he was physically fine, a leasurily warm-up the week before would be okay, but after seeing him twice this year, playing the week before The Open does sound weird. Especially considering how he has emphasized that playing golf strains his body and he has to cool down and whatnot after each round.

He can still WD from the pro-am, so we’ll see.

Good to hear.

I have high hopes (not a win or anything, probably not even contending) for him at St. Andrews.

Well he has to make up for the high nine figures he turned down from LIV somehow!

I know nothing about the JP McManus thing, other than that JP is a very wealthy man who puts things like this on from time to time. I'm guessing it's going to be a short event that Tiger can play without worrying about tiring himself out or damaging his leg any, while still getting some competitive reps under his belt. But like I said, I know nothing 🤷‍♂️

Hopefully he has a golf cart for the Pro-Am.

Oh great. So I’m going to my first US Open and he skips it! I’m sending him a text with the angry face emoji.😡

It's okay, Tiger was at (and even won) the first US Open I went to, and I didn't get to see him except on the TV.  The closest to him I got was when I got to say hi to Todd Hamilton's caddie.

Anyway, so Tiger's apparently a billionaire now.  That's pretty cool.

I got to see him at the 2008 US Open at Torrey Pines, but I only went for the practice rounds.  Then I went home and watched him make history on the big screen.

Tiger Woods says he missed last month's US Open to "give it at least one more run at a high level" on the Old Course at next week's 150th Open...

So now we know he likes to read Dean Koontz.

This bit from the new PGA Tour 2K23 trailer cracked me up. The irons throne.

I am surprised they didn't make it threesomes, with a amateur partner; make it be Jordan and Justin and ??? against Rory and Tiger with Charlie - TV ratings would be huge

    • Day 38, December 8, 2022 Took yesterday off to drive about 12 hours, but putted a little today after getting back home with Natalie. Will get back to full-swing work tomorrow.
    • I don’t know if you’re just posting as a journal, but if you’re looking for feedback you’re going to want to film at better angles.
    • Really?  Knowing the name of the caddy would spoil the podcast for you?
    • Day 1: Aftermath of wife's company end of year celebration on Tuesday put my plans on hold, so trying again, again, again or whatever. Worked on backswing - focus on width and depth, with a little bit of toe-up feel. Did this indoors because it's starting to rain, used mirror vision to check on things (need to do this more often/always).
    • Played the back nine again at Minnesott with my son and my friend who’s working back from nerve injury to his right hand (numb little and ring fingers).  He’s contemplating larger grips so we brought a couple irons - one midsize, one jumbo.  He hit a few with each and said he could feel the clubs in his right hand better.  He’s going to work with a fitter about the best grip for him.  How did the round go?  It was a bogie kind of day - one dbl, two pars and six bogies for a 44.  Hit 5 of 7 fairways, the drives were finding the short grass today.  Not quite the same on the par threes, caught the tee shot with heavy 9i on 12 to nearly pin high, but right of the green. Pitched the 58 over the bunker as the pin was tucked tight.  Two putted for bogie.  The other three, 14 was a 6i flushed that landed ball at the back of the green and bounced just off.  Bumped the 50 to get the ball close - not close enough for a one putt par, but rather a two putt bogie.  While it wasn’t the up and down saves for par, felt the overall game was consistent today.  Best highlight was that there were only 18 putts - no three putts today!
