Too late, it's probably ingrained in your long term memory by now.

My short term memory? yes. My long term memory? no. Golfers normally have a tendency to remember the good and forget the bad. We like to dwell upon our great and good shots.

My memory consists of: Hit 3 wood ok, irons sucked, wedges sucked, putter sucked.

Proceed to the range to practice 3 wood to get more distance.

I typically can remember every shot. Every now and then I can't recall maybe one shot, but that's it. I still remember shots from my first round of golf over 40 years ago. I remember my first par as though it were yesterday. But I can't remember my grandkids birthdays. I'm usually within a month or two though. :-)

Unfortunately yes. I need to forget the bad shots as soon as possible, but alas my mind likes to torture me to no end.

I can remember all the shots from my last several rounds. And if I sit and think about it, I can remember most shots from rounds I've played in my recent *last few months/year* history. You know you remember way too much and are going overboard with details when you are talking about your round and you can see the eyes of the person you are talking to start to glaze over. That's the sign to cut the detailed shot by shot playback of your round short rofl.

Just as long as you remember the wife's anniversary, otherwise there's no sense in leaving the golf course

A few years late here, but I find this topic interesting so I will give my insight. I remember usually every tee shot and iron shot very well, but I tend to forget short putts and chips. I think it’s just because they aren’t remarkable and they are very similar to each other. While drives and iron shots are very different from shot to shot so they kinda stick in my mind. Also I notice that when I play with buddies, and we are telling stories, and joking around I don’t remember many shots because my mind was somewhere else when I was hitting, but in tournament play and rounds by myself where I’m trying to track everything I always remember every shot.

Yes I do.  Each round, however, is erased by the next one.  I can tell you every shot I played, and what I was thinking at the time...until I play another round.  I overwrite the save.

I will usually remember all my shots until a few days after the round, even if I played every day in that stretch. I played 36 holes today (score posts coming soon), and tomorrow and maybe even Monday I could recall the overwhelming majority of my shots.

If somebody here asked me what a certain shot was on a certain hole, I bet I could name it.

I remember every shot very well and use the new USGA GHIN system to post my stats. Even though I have no idea where my keys are right now.

I can usually remember every shot for a few days but after that I need to free up space on my mental hard drive and it gets those shots get auto-deleted.

I'll remember the really good or really bad for quite a while, but the average are gone after a day, but since I use GameGolf it helps remember the less memorable.

I recall every shot I hit... because that evening just before counting sheep I count various stats.  GIRs, Near GIRs and average club hit into the green.  That is a very telling stat that speaks to ease of approach shot and distance of drive/tee shot.  Also, for some weird reason I can remember 5-6 shots I hit in rounds as old as 6 months ago.  Good and bad, both.

I can not remember every single shot from a round regardless of how well or not I play unless--- I look at my score card from a particular round. Sure there are some memorable and not so memorable ones from a number of recent rounds that I can remember but not an entire rounds worth. I have tried to recall every shot from memory but I have to have my score card from the round to be reasonably close. Sometimes but not often even with the score card.

When I have trouble falling asleep, I do something similar or I go through a course in my head.

    • I had two events the past two days. Yesterday I was playing a course blind. Hit it solid. Hit 9/14 fairways, 12/18 greens, 34 putts. Many of those putts were the result of balls that were close-ish to the hole when they landed, but wound up a long way away once they'd finished rolling (backwards mainly). Then today, hit 11/13 fairways, 11/18 greens, 37 putts, and shot 80. 8 over par and it wasn't particularly pretty. My big problem today was my pitching. I was inside 100 yards of the hole and off the green on 9 occasions.  1st - drive to about 75 yards, fanned a 58 degree short and right. On the green, but a good 40 feet away and good two putt from there (so took 3) 2nd - laid up to a bunker and it's narrow past it, so had 165 in, missed it right with an 8 iron. Wet rough, chip from about 5 yards off the green and the club snagged. It got on the green, but only temporarily. Overcorrected a bit on the next one and hit it a bit firm and it rolled out to about 35 feet. Putt didn't break and it ran on a bit and I missed the one back (greens were fast and a little bumpy, which didn't help, but doesn't excuse either). (took 5 to get down from close to the green) 4th - had about 95 from the right rough, hit it on the green and two putts (3) 5th - 90 from the fairway, tugged it and it got a firm bounce, chipped on and hit what I thought was a decent chip, but it ran out down the hill and two putts from 20 feet (4) 7th - 65 from the fairway, significant upslope and hit it a bit hard, ran long left against the collar. Tried to blade a PW, but it got under a bit so didn't advance it anything like far enough. Made a good two putt from there (4) 11th - 63 from the fairway, hit a squirrelly pitch on the green and two putts (3) 12th - 75 from the semi-rough, caught it a bit clean and it wound up on the back edge. Putting down a tier and it ran 8 feet past (that was actually a really good putt and couldn't have done any better I don't think) and missed that (4) 13th - 55 from the fairway, overcorrected and hit the big ball before the small ball. Then made a stellar up and down from 25 yards short to an elevated green with a putter (3) 15th - down in three from a greenside bunker (3) That was it. The other 9 holes I hit it on the green from outside 100 yards. So on those 9 occasions, I took 32 shots to get in the hole. 3.56 average. Terrible. Reason I'm posting this in here is to see if anyone has any suggestions for how to work on my contact with pitch shots. I don't have access to a grass range. Only mats and it's easy off a mat. Partly I think my problem is I've hit it off mats so much this winter that I've lost my judgement on where the ball is versus the ground because of the leeway granted. Open to ideas. I also suspect that under pressure I stand a bit closer to it and then get steep and hit down on it and it puts me in a bad place, but I can't seem to get myself to not do that.

    • Day 251 4-30 Worked on pelvis "going back" slightly in transition. Once i started getting some feel for it, added in wrist arching through. All done slower.
    • I've been putting whilst looking at the hole and it's definitely helped my distance control
