Shhhh.  Don't tell 9iron that.  He needs his conspiracy fabrications to be obscure and unverifiable.  Otherwise he just looks silly.

It was only a matter of time before these reports surfaced. It will only be a matter of time before this is accepted as fact with one Tiger Woods.

Well, you guys keep claiming it is all b.s., but yet it keeps rearing its head over and over again. This time from a professional golfer. Everyone is just out to get the guy, huh?

"Over and over again"? Really? We don't even know if Olsen is a credible source.

Sounds about as credible as Dan Olsen.

I am waiting for Woody's lawyers to huddle up, and offer a law suit against Olsen for slander. If they don't, does that  say anything about Olsen's credibility? False accusations, in the past, have been a big deal with Woody, and his handlers. It's not likely Woody's camp would let something like this go on with out some sort of retraction.

BTW McCartney didn't die in 1966. He just change his name to Timmy Finchem.  They even made a song about him called "Timothy" by "The Buoys". Yeah, I know. Way too many MGDs today....so far.

Nope. Some people just don't go on attack mode with the lawyer. Heck you might not even hear about it. Olsen might get a nicely written document stating to the fact what a big pile of :poo: he just stepped in with all of this.

Maybe, but Tiger has gone that route in the past. I think he explored it during a Ryder Cup one year when the European press made the claim that Elin (then his wife) had modeled with less than her bikini at times. That having been said, Woods' legal response won't change my view that this is hooey by some irrelevant clown who just wants airtime.

I've never heard of either DeMarco or Olsen before. I did listen to the interview and found Olsen to have very little credibility. He was vague and elusive in his statements. DeMarco had several opportunities within the interview to press Olsen for more details or to be more direct in his assertions (for example, Olsen repeatedly implied that Tiger was cheating by using a non-conforming ball, but he never directly said that) and he never took those opportunities. Both came off pretty poorly, in my opinion.

I'll believe it when someone is able to offer hard evidence. Olsen was just spouting nonsense;  he would never say what kind of drugs tiger took only that he heard it through the grapevine that something "big" was going on.  Then he launched into how the PGA was basically covering up what he was doing which will keep his conspiracy alive forever.

Also does Olsen really expect everyone to believe that Nike was doing something fishy with their balls for Tiger that he was the only person in professional golf that noticed.  Or that the rest of the field was seemingly so OK with Tiger using illegal equipment as he kicked their butts up and down the course every week?  Give me a break

It is fascinating that you embrace every rumor about Tiger and ignore every rumor about Jack and Arnie.

Bob Harig on ESPN is surprisingly reporting on this story today with regards to Tiger's agent and the tour refuting the accusation.

Olsen's accusations don't add up. He's insinuating that the suspsenension is obviously for recent PED use...the tour is required to report PED infractions and minimum suspension is one year. IF Tiger was caught doping and the tour didn't want to report it/suspend for a year for obvious financial reasons (per the conspiracy theories) then they would totally sweep it under the rug...not suspend him for a month because in that case the truth would ultimately get out. I believe it's possible that Tiger doped pre-2008 (prior to tour testing) but common sense (his physical demise) and tour policy would tell us that it's not plausible he has in recent years which is what Olsen is insinuating.

I'm not a litigous person but I think Tiger should puruse legal action against this guy for slander. If he chooses not to, I don't think it's an indication of guilt with regards to this accusation (recent doping) but IMO, it could be telling with regards to his pre-2008 actions...i.e. Tiger not wanting to open a can of warms IF there are PED skeletons in his closet. Again, I have no earthly idea whether Tiger doped pre-2008 but this is just my gut reaction.

Professional golfer is just barely true.  His story has zero credibility.  How would such an obscure guy with no known connection to Tiger be privy to info that every golf writer on the planet would give his eyeteeth to break.

Face it, you will swallow whole anything that could reflect badly on Tiger and stubbornly resist anything that reflects well on him.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

That is an interesting take. I didn't think about the how he could use a slander lawsuit to clear his name for old allegations. If figured his PR people would advise him not to sue because headlines would read something like.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
