If stuff goes really well this week, there may be the cash for an exciting trip to the renowned Homestead Golf Course in beautiful Tipp City, OH.

Not sure myself. I'm not planning to go to Orlando until maybe next December at the earliest. My cousin just got engaged so a trip to CA is in my future as well.

Maybe I'll go to the next Mid-Atlantic outing if @DaveP043 promises the weather will be better than it was last year. Or the year before :-P

More of a trip to visit family but we shipstixed (is that a word?) our clubs to Alabama and Thanksgiving week we’ll play a few, 4 maybe 5 of nearby RTJ courses.

Played yesterday with my older clubs, doods I miss my clubs.

On the way home from our recent golf trip we started talking about the Monterey Peninsula. So I could see an early 2018 hop over the pond.

In the worse case we’ll take a few days on Maui and hit Kapalua, and Wailea.

Have fun!

I believe I may have been permanently disqualified from planning any more TST outings in Virginia, based on the weather I've arranged.

Sounds like fun. I'll be leaving in less than an hour to head that way also.

Maybe we could hook up for some golf. ;-)

My next big trip won't be until 2019. It's not a "golf" trip tho, we'll be heading back to Europe for my wife's 50th bday but I will absolutely be playing golf. Right now I'm thinking either St. Andrews but if that fails, I'll play in Switzerland.

my get up and go musta got up and went..

We had a great time in Palm Springs, in spite of my wife and her broken foot.  We played the Golf Club at La Quinta (the old Trilogy course), Eagle Falls, PGA West Norman, Silverrock, Classic Club, and Desert Willow Mountain View.  Every one was in great shape, and every one was enjoyable.  My favorite is Classic Club, with Desert Willow and Eagle Falls pretty close behind.  The least favorite was La Quinta, and only because its completely surrounded by housing, otherwise its a good solid course.  The Norman Course was new to us this year, and I liked it better than I expected.  Lots of room in most places, but the bunkers were generally really deep and punishing, and the greens were pretty small.  It was a nice change from the freezing weather around Virginia.

    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
    • Exactly correct.   I was absolutely certain about the penalty (none here), but the bit about where they play from can be really confusing the first time you read it.  In my big paper rule book, i used colored highlighters to make it clear.  Good thing I did, at the Cascades there's little to no cell service, so using the rules app on the phone wasnn't possible.
    • Taking a crack it, but looks pretty clear. 11.1  Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person or Outside Influence. a. No Penalty to Any Player If a player’s ball in motion accidentally hits any person (including the player) or outside influence: There is no penalty to any player. This is true even if the ball hits the player, the opponent or any other player or any of their caddies or equipment. Reading further down it looks like they have to play the ball as it lies. No replay from the previous spot.
    • I had an interesting one yesterday, a local qualifier for the US Senior Open, at the Cascades Course at the Homestead.  Well, first things first, the VSGA arrnged for the officials to play the Cascades on Monday at the players' practice round rate.  Its lots of fun, rather old-style (built in the 1920s).  anyway, a player missed a short putt, and (apparently embarrassed) took a step to be ready to tap the ball back in.  The ball lipped out, and hit the player's foot.  I was nearby, and they waved me over, and asked "What do we do now?"  I was pretty sure of the ruling, but asked them to wait for a few seconds while i double-checked.  I did have it correct, even though its one of the more confusing rules in the book right now.  I'll leave the correct answer out for now, in case anyone wants to guess, or research it, and post their ruling.
