Ian Poulter needs 31K this week at the Valero Texas Open to keep his card.

Does he get the job done?

FYI last year at the same tournament eight played were T29 and they earned 37K. Looks like the last time Poulter played in the Texas Open was in '13 and he finished T37.

Wow, big week for him. Never had a problem with Poulter. For a self confessed "golf club pro" he's done fairly well on the big show. He punched above his weight at the Ryder Cup, due to his love of match play, which ironically is probably why he hasn't performed to a similar level on tour. I voted 'yes', as I think he is at his best when he has his back to the wall.

The guy comes off as an a-hole so I'm not pulling for him but I think he will do it.

Just looked at the field, the highest ranking player is Patrick Reed with a World Golf Ranking of 15, 2nd highest ranking player is Brendan Grace with a World Golf Ranking of 21 (unless I missed someone).

That's a pretty weak field overall, bodes well for his chances.

I hope he pulls it off, the golf world needs a villain.

But there wasn't really anything 'on the line' then right? His recent Ryder Cup play wasn't stellar, but I think overall he'll pull it off. I'm not a Poulter fan by any means. But he usually seems to be able to scrap when something important is at stake.

Nothing like this week, no. The commentators on Sunday said Poulter looked anxious before his round so I'm thinking he's going to be pretty nervy this week.

He does but I still voted No ;-)

Why is Poulter so disliked?
All I remember about him is he seeks out revenge for people that troll him on twitter.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

In general he comes off as a pompous asshole.  One recent example is that he blamed a photographer for distracting him: here

I don't really hate him. Not a huge fan either. Really could care less if he makes it or not although he has been making cuts and playing better. I think he will earn enough to hang around another year or two.

My bag:

Taylor Made R7 (x-stiff).
Taylor Made Burner 2 irons (stiff)
Cleveland Wedges (gap and 60)
Odyssey two ball putter (white)

I voted yes. I haven't had a chance to look at the field but based off the comment above, if the field is on the weaker side, I think he gets it.

You've likely never really interacted with him.

I voted no.

Fingers crossed.

Would love to hear more about this...

I'm in the "no" camp as well. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

I voted yes since he seemed to play ok last week and has played well at times under pressure before.  But I agree with some that I'd be ok if he didn't make it....he's kind of easy to cheer against.
