"He" didn't take the wrong penalty. He took a 2 stroke penalty for breaking the rules. it is up to the rules officials or PGA to disqualify him.
We can have an endless discussion of "what if"....
However haven't there been golfers who lost a tournament because someone called in a penalty, when there is no evidence the golfer was aware an infraction had taken place.
We accept that, we would accept this. Penalty is a penalty.
When playing for fun, my personal rules:
1 Mulligan per round
Double par max per hole
If we all agree "your ball should be right around here" drop with no penalty
Pants off dance off if you don't clear ladies tees. (requires at least 30 seconds of Rodney Dangerfield like dancing with pants around ankles.
It's close to being Hoffman for Boedker straight up, right? I'm guessing Ottawa needed an NHL player to fill the vacancy, because San Jose got a much better return for Hoffman than Ottawa did.
The drama in Ottawa isn't over, either. They need to give Colorado their 1st round draft pick in either this year or next year's draft as part of the Matt Duchene trade. This year they hold the 4th overall pick, but next year, considering the direction the team is heading, could end up being 1st overall. Fun times as long as you're not a Senators fan.
Have a couple rounds in the 70s. I've broken 80 before but it seemed like a fluke day where everything was going right. I do want to take some full swing lessons but the best instructor for me that I've found is a couple hours away.
