Either 9i or 8i, depending on how crisply I'm hitting the ball that day.

Depending on how I am hitting it that day I would either: Hit a low draw with a full 52 degree or hit a hit fade with a 3/4 pitching wedge. Most of the time I would hit the sawn off PW.

I rarely use a full swing with my 9i, but 125 - 130 is the distance that I have to. I no longer use a full swing for 120 yards and less (for circumstances described in the OP) and haven't taken a full swing with any wedge in almost a year.

That’s a great point, but I gave up on this idea because it’s just as hard for me to control distances with a partial swing. I’ve rolled by holes and greens this way. I’m better off with a shot that hits the ground solidly and leaves a big pitch mark unless I can chip in. OTOH anything I say about inside 125 yards is just pure crap anyway :-D

Same here. I am overly confident in my abilities from 120 yards and in. I know my full swing sucks, but for some reason I believe I should hit every green when using a partial swing (which is of course absolute nonsense).

Back on topic, has your Mevo helped with decisions like which club you use for which distance or is that something you just know from playing?

I’m not overly confident at anything right now...

Oh for sure it has made a huge difference. I started trying to hit higher and lower trajectories and watch spin numbers. I haven’t used it lately because I waiting for my newer and larger dots to come in. Have been experimenting, and also just plain busy at work.

Went to the driving range today but forgot to bring it because it has been on the charger for a week or so.

Great tool when I have the time, and it really helps me develop my swing. Hitting way more solid now.

When I said, 125 yards out, I did mean to the hole, but it is cut in the middle third somewhere. Remember, In LSW we're supposed to #AimDeadCenter.

After thinking about it, you could do a 2 question poll. One for the type of shot, the other for the club. I apologize if I hit a "in between" yardage for some of you, however, I just want to see how we approach it.

That is OK. We should be thinking about the best place on the green to aim for versus where the flag is as you stated. The flag is the easy thing to laser and we kind of get focused on that, but we should be thinking about our shot zone.

That is what I did with the 9 iron pick. My 9 iron ranges 120 - 135 depending on conditions, but I use 130 as the target number. Since the flag in your scenario was 125, I played it conservatively and use the 130 number to make sure I get on the green.

I would hit a 3/4 9 iron (desired distance would be the center of the green)  Depending on the green I would aim right of center and draw one in.

If it's warm with the pretty perfect conditions you list in the OP, this is a full AW (51˚).  In average conditions where I live in Oregon, I'm probably coming up a bit short and might choke up and flight a PW.

Well...I thought it was a 9 iron.  After today I'm thinking that a topped 6 can be just the ticket.  It may not look very professional; but a 4 is a 4.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."
