But Fleetwood was first in Friday.

Friday is irrelevant.

On Twitter Frank Nobilo said it was because they tied but Fleetwood teed off first. So he was "first in the ground" basically.

But I'd always thought it was first to post a score (and Rory holed out on 18 before Fleetwood).

Now that I’m turning on the tv for the day, I’m noticing that they’ve got less tournament broadcast coverage than yesterday. Yesterday was 6 hours on the golf channel; today none (I’m not counting the “live from” since that’s more commentary and interviews). They’ve got 4 hours scheduled on NBC starting a little later.  In the meantime, I can watch Wales vs Ireland rugby. :-\

I’m guessing they want people to subscribe to watch online by subscription. I’d  do that, but that’s live only (right?)—I want to be able to dvr it, to rewind, pause, take a break for an hour then get caught up. So, no thanks.

So instead, I’m not watching either golf channel or NBC.

I don't know what time zone you live in, but for me it was on from 2 to 7PM which is 5 hours. This was the NBC broadcast network. They are scheduled to be on from 1 to 6PM Sunday. At least the leaders were finished in the allotted time with the post cut field!

And yes, I don't understand the pairings any more than anyone else!

Come to think of it, not being in the last pairing might do Rory some good!

The old theme. Yeah, I like that better.

Central time zone. NBC scheduled the tournament here from 1 to 5.  I haven’t watched it all yet, so I don’t know if they stopped as scheduled. (I usually program the dvr for an extra hour or more for sports in case things go long.)

I guess my point was I would rather have NBC broadcast golf than rugby on a Saturday. Or maybe even on the golf channel.

Tiger Woods and Kevin Na shared a laugh after a bizarre pair of birdie putts in this must-watch video from 17 on...

Great to see this. Tiger so different but in a good way.

According to the TV Times page at PGATour.Com, 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm EDT on NBC

In informal (and by no means official) response to posters herein asking about player finishes and tee times assignments for 3rd and 4th round play, my personal understanding is that the priority order is as follows

1. Best score for 36 holes (for 3rd Rnd Tees) / 54 holes (for 4th Rnd Tees)

2. In case of ties for #1, best score for the particular round played.
3. In case of ties for #2, the player who completes the particular 18 holes the earliest. followed by 2nd earliest; 3rd earliest; and so on.

It is possible that priority option 2 may not be used -- but I'm not sure.

Thanks. I wonder why priority method different for #1 and #2 ties.

Rory finished before Fleetwood.

Sounds like the FILO only applies if people are in different groups, if you are in the same group and post the same 3rd round score then they go based on your 3rd round starting order.

From golf channel,

"Even though Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy were tied at 14-under 202, one shot back of Rahm, it’s Fleetwood who’ll go off last Sunday (at 1:35 p.m. ET) because he teed off first in their final pairing Saturday."

They’re teeing off a little earlier for a couple reasons:

1) Players does a 3-hole playoff so in case they need extra time for that.

2) The NCAA selection show is at 6 and they don’t want to go up against that.

Two very confusing decisions that led to balls in the water (Fleetwood, Rahm).

Vegas with the longest putt ever made on that green.  13 feet longer than Langer's former record.  And he did it without anchoring!

    • I have a putting mat in my office. It's 9 feet long almost 4 feet wide. I've drawn a line down it in order to practice hitting my line and stuff. Works fine for what it is.  While I'm not a fan of lining up a line on my golfball for every putt. I think for practice sessions it can have a lot of value.  To me this product makes sense. This is the first time I've seen it. It showed up as an add on the right side of the TST webpage. What do you all think? PuttAIM Laser Training Aid Get ready to dominate the greens like never before. PuttAIM Golf is a golf putting aid that uses laser technology to help you improve your game. This device works to ensure your putts are aligned properly and on track...
    • Of course. I've used different words to start, but like 90-95% of the time it's been this one. And I'm unlikely to switch now.
    • Welcome to TST @Camjr.   We're glad you've joined.
    • Angle is not a factor. I hit the ball 100’ high. Par is net birdie. My CH is 16. The rough between the bunkers is like 10’ wide though. That’s not something you’re going to try to hit on purpose. Most of the area to the left of that is fescue/native vegetation and I’m pretty sure there isn’t a flat lie in any of it. It’s the second hole.
    • Hello all.  I'm about to be 57 yrs old, started playing when I was 16, and have quit and restarted the game more times than I can count.  I had started playing a weekly round with a friend, and finally made the jump to Senior A shafted Tour Edge clubs.  Instantly gained 10 yds with an easier swing (why didn't I make that jump sooner???).  Glad to be a part of the group. Cheers all,
