Mine is 70445, and comes from me shooting a round in 70..par 72 so 2 under, the 44 is my age and the 5 stands for the number on ball I use.

Oftentimes I look at the various user names in this forum and find myself wondering if there is any special meaning attached to the various user names and how did you come up with your username?

My user name, as you can see is 9wood. I use theme 9wood because I carry what I believe is an unusual 9 Wood club in my bag. I have found that for me this 9 Wood can be useful especially on par 3 holes of around 140 yds or so because of the higher loft I get with the 9 Wood, which means the ball sticks better on the greens when I hit them.

So. what's the story behind your user name. Care to tell us?

I've never liked mulligans or breakfast balls.  But the real reason...

My neighbor, a great guy, but he would often shoot off 2 or 3 balls on many a tee box.  I didn't like it, hated it actually.

I've clued him in over time (it slows play down, it's not in the spirit of the game, it makes your score meaningless etc.) and he has reined that behaviour in for the most part.

First initial, last name, year of birth.  I use it on some other sites and it makes it easier to remember.  Not all that into internet anonymity.  Helps make one's posting a bit more mellow knowing someone can track one down and beat the crap out of you.

jbishop15 was my student email address when I was in college. I came to really like the way the name sounded in my head, and out loud, and it's become my moniker for pretty much all online stuff, lol

I used to play drums and like Big Band and Jazz.  The first time I needed a screen name I was listening to the Benny Goodman Orchestra and on the drums was... Gene Krupa.

Patch is short for Patches, which is a nickname my parents gave me way back when I was a little guy.

I had two half sisters, and two half  brothers growing up. The story goes, that my folks were married for quite a while before I was born. Once I arrived, they said I reminded them of a patch quilt........... because it took so many pieces to get me here.
