Yeah, I had a tee time for Monday and the course was closed due to snow.Β  The very next day the course opened as all the snow melted on Monday.

Beauty of a day yesterday. it was mid 50s, but the sun was out and no wind. I played 27.

It really sucked waking this morning to a windshield full of frost. Now that I'm parking on the street, it has become one element of winter I really despise.

It seems like Long Island is heading towards a chilly fall. Played in an outing yesterday. It was chilly with a ton of wind.Β

I always get a bit melancholy this time of year because it gets dark early and the outdoor non-winter sport activity is coming to an end. I'll keep playing as long as I can, but then it's indoor practice after that.Β

Yeah, the seasons make me try and milk the summer as much as I can but sometimes you burn out, and wind up indoors when it's sunny outside. Hopefully the NOAA is wrong about El NiΓ±o.Β

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Ha ha. Don't kid yourselves. It's only a matter of time for those of you downstate.

I'm still heading out tomorrow if they let me on the course. Might have to wait until noon when it's supposed to "warm up" to a toasty 40Β°.

      Played Sunday and implemented the Mayo spinner. Hit my second shot long and left on three to a bare lie. I have seen this shot to a tucked pin but I don’t swing across it enough and hit it too far with a ton of spin but it rolled into the bunker. I pulled my approach short and left on ten to a horrible lie with about 3’ of rise to a tucked pin maybe 5’ on the green. Ball is in a damp lie with debris behind and in front of the ball. Hit it to 3.5’ but horseshoed the putt around the right edge, which was a common miss. I hooked my tee shot into an unplayable lie in the hazard on the left side of the par 5 16th. Hit a great recovery that rolled to about 45 yards short of the back right pin. Hit the spinner over a bumpy green that rolled just over the ridge to 3’. Sank the straight 2.5’ putt. Felt like I had good control of these shots!
