Don’t be a fair weather golfer 😜

Lol. This summer and no previous summers have kept me indoors. Yet.

You realize by reviving this thread before the snow flies is a curse.   Let's hope that NY doesn't receive snow before other states!   As for the Mitten state, keep that white stuff away from here for a significant time!

New NWS forecast: 18-24 inches of snow in NYC

I wonder if we’re eventually going to have a corresponding Summer is too damn hot depression thread. It’s still hot and we’re almost into September.

This has been the warmest, muggiest summer I can recall. Our dew point here in RI has been in the low 70s most of the summer. That is humid.

Well it’s almost that time. First frost delay of the year - it was 34°F when I arrived at the course.

It was 50°F when I teed off last week.

I cleaned up the clubs and put them in the corner of the garage this morning. I’m heading to Florida next week and will play with @missitnoonan, but he has a spare set of Mizunos that I can borrow. After Florida, it’s time to hibernate until next May.

I actually signed up for an indoor league for the winter. Only $17 a week, with a free week with prepay in advance. If nothing else, it'll keep me swinging the clubs.

Interesting weather we’ve been having lately. It was 30°F when I arrived at the course yesterday morning. We had an 80 minute frost delay. By the turn I went to the bathroom to take off my base layer. It was 65°F at the end of the round.

So it seems the home course has installed a simulator. Might be worth a try or two in snow season.

This thing is called a ForeSight Golf Sports Simulator. Anyone try one of these?

I used that very one to play in a winter 2-man league one year. Not sure if its the best one out there. But I know I've never seen any better ones.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Hi all, I'm a new guy here from Western NY, so I'm transitioning from summer to winter sports now.  I don't get depressed for winter as I have many other outdoor hobbies so I won't really miss golf. However a nearby driving range just built a really nice 8 bay Toptracer facility. It's fully enclosed with large doors on each bay that open to hit balls into the range. Also has overhead heaters, a bar and snack shop. I'm really looking forward to giving this a try and maybe hit balls once or twice a month instead of taking my usual golf hiatus from November till April.  Maybe it won't feel like I have to learn golf over again in the spring 🙂

Welcome to TST @BlackDiamondPar5, we're glad you've joined.   The new facility sounds great, especially with a few friends!   Don't forget to give us an update on your visits.
