Shot 90. Had a 355 yard drive which was cool. Hit a few OOB at the start.

Oddly enough I was hitting the ball very solidly, and stupid long. Ball flight was great, direction was fine, just had very poor control of my yardages.

League night. 39 on the back nine at Cobbs Glen.

3 bogies the rest pars. 1 bonehead club selection on #18. Failed to convert for birdie out of greenside bunkers on both par 5's.

42 - 47 for my first round of the year. Very wet course. The second 9 was like playing on a sponge. My wrist was a bit sore the first few holes, but fine after. My bicep was fine the whole round. I iced both immediately after the round.

I felt I hit the ball pretty well considering I've only been doing mirror work and using light clubs.

Left a couple of birdie putts short. The ball had a rooster tail at times when putting! :-P

I shot a 76.  39 on the front 37 on the back (par 70)  Best round of the year so far...however, I went 4 over on the last 3 holes.  Not a good way to end it.

My round scared me, frightened me, upset me but I still had fun.  We played Hunter's Ridge in Howell, MI.  It's a shorter par 71 course.   I started out on fire... Par, birdie, par, par, birdie..This scared and frightened me because it is so much better than normal.  2 under after 5 holes.     My usual game would have me about +5.    I proceed to lose focus and ended that 9 with a score of 42!   42 is still good for me but after being 2 under and going 7 over....My game didn't get back on track until the 12th hole.    I ended up with an 87 but lost about 11 shots that should have been pretty easy to recover....My best opportunity....

Super windy 9 - 40 yesterday. Didn't hit that great but kept ball in play and holed out couple of bombs from 20 some feet.

Shot a 55 from the "tips" on an easy course (only 3109 yards for the front 9).

Still struggling to hit greens - no where near where I was last year. Good contact today but dispersion was off. Even the small misses seemed costly. Lots of penalty strokes for a 9 hole round.

Have definitely gone backwards. Can't blame the injury, the arm felt great. Just a lackluster effort.... gotta get out of this funk.

48 - rough first league round of the year. I had a lot of good shots followed by bad shots or short game miscues.

I surprised myself with a 76 (4 over) on a course I've never played before. I fought off my typical stupidity until the 17th, where I tried to hit it as far as I could instead of where it was smart and made my only double. Avoiding stupidity for 16 holes may be a record for me.:-)

69 - 79 at my home course this weekend.

Really good ball striking weekend, pratice it`s paying off week after week.

Greens where full of sand because of maintenance, not practicing it made it worst. Lost a lot of shoots in the green.

I played well this weekend, especially considering the conditions.

45 on the front 9 at Stoneleigh on Saturday, in the rain, with @RandallT, @iacas and @billchao...definitely hurt by a 6-6-7 start.

44-47 (91) in the wind today...counting an ESC '8' on my one blow-up hole (two drives OB - ouch) with @jsgolfer, @GolfLug and Bill.

Shot a pretty solid 78 today. 10 GIR, plus an additional 3 times I putted from the fringe. Took me about 7 holes to hit a decent iron, but then I was nails from then on. Ended on a streak of 7 pars. Pretty pleased.

    • I had a free Titleist ball fitting yesterday at the facility where I practice. It was done outside off grass hitting Pro V1 RCT balls into a net with Trackman behind capturing data. Apparently for more advanced fittings I would hit the different balls but for this free type fitting everything is referenced off the Pro V1. Tech said characteristics of Pro V1 are well known and relationships to other balls are predictable and generally accurate.  It consisted of hitting a handful of shots with different clubs beginning with 60-yard SW and working up through driver, skipping a couple clubs between, for example PW to 7i. I had used the online tool, and it had suggested Pro V1 was the best ball, this algorithm was recommending the same until I got to driver. When we did get to driver, I commented to the tech person that it was one of the clubs I did not know how to hit yet, to which they said not a problem. However, based on how I hit the driver the recommendation flipped from Pro V1 to Pro V1x, which I sort of have an issue with. That being the whole concept of getting fitted for a swing I know is flawed and I am actively working on improving. Specifically, that my angle of attack with the driver can be -3 to -5 down according to my R10. The Trackman had me at -3.5 down, combined with 2500 RPM spin and the algorithm wanted to get me into a more spinney ball than the Pro V1 to help with apex height. I found it terribly disconcerting hitting into a net with not much feedback or transparency as to what the results were. Which could be fair as the information they did share wasn't in a form I am familiar with. The dispersion charts were about spin, apex, and landing angle and not distance and direction. Maybe I should have been more active in requesting feedback. The final outcome was that either the V1 or the V1x would be a fit and it would come down to if I had a preference based on shots around the green or some other specific area where one seemed clearly better. Overall, I am ambivalent to the experience. I was excited when the tech said they would email me all this information so I could review it and waved their hand at the tablet. However, all they emailed me was a page saying Pro V1x was the recommended ball with a link to buy some for $68/dozen. Excitement turned to disappointment. There was a good bit of interest in the fitting though, three people wanting to get involved came up to the tent while I was there. I would be hesitant to do any fittings again until I felt I had a more stable and viable swing. Which is another whole story I suppose.
    • Day 317 7-18 Keeping arm wide in down swing. I also spent quite a bit of time with arching, trail arm rotation. Today was a good practice. Foam balls.
    • Day 654 - 2026-07-18 Played around with the Arm Shark a bit today. Mostly played 21 (a putting game) against some of the kids I coach.
    • Day 22: played 18. Average to below average - +8; 80. Tee shots good and approach play solid. Short game and putting not so good. Did make my first eagle of the year though - driver, 3 wood from 260, caused a 20 footer.
    • Ernest Jones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As someone who doesn't play golf tournaments, links golf or any courses with tall grass, I want to thank Bryson for showing me what not to do in that situation. I was genuinely clueless about this kind of thing. I definitely would've known not to clear a path for my backswing, but it's still a nice way for me to very, very quickly learn what not to do if I ever find myself in tall grass.  Also I was kinda bored by the tournament, and this spiced it up a bit for me. Hoping Sam Burns can close this out tomorrow and get his major.  Edit: Some funny tweets
