Claiming my VLogger award...

(BTW, thanks for this idea...I stink at it, but have enjoyed doing it and being able to review my rounds.  Something I'll definitely continue. ;-))

After going all of last golf season without an eagle, my first round of the 2017 season saw me drain a 35 footer for eagle.

No hole in one in my career but I did have an Albatross on the short par 5 fifth at Tapps Island in Washington State.

Congratulations! Great stuff.

Broke 80 several times. Did make an eagle this week-end (done that a few times also). Have had three hole in ones (one on a Par 4).

I've got you down for it. Nice work.

I set  a new personal best with an 87 this past Summer and forgot to put in for "broke 90".  I also made my first ever Eagle a few months ago.

Thanks!

Figured I would try to catch up and get some bling since I have kind of over looked these.

I've had multiple eagles at my home course, mainly on the same reachable Par 5.

Participated in the TST East Coast outing 6-7 May 17

Not sure about the Stupid Monkey one, I know over the past couple months I have tried to be one

You've got the two.

The Stupid Monkey one has a pretty high bar, and I'm not sure you even have a Member Swing topic…?

Congrats! Pleasure to meet you. Sorry we didn't get to play more golf together.

Iacas, I broke 80 late last year, 78, and again two weeks ago, 79. Does that qualify for the broke 80 award. Thanks. Uitar9 Canada

Hi I bought The Lowest Score Wins last year and it's among my favorite golf books.  Can I have the badge?  I also broke 80 3 or 4 times last year and have 1 hole in one... but it was in 1994.. not sure if that counts.  Thanks.

I'm new to TST, but I have

  • Broken 80 (many years ago, may never again?)
  • Scored several eagles (on par 5's)
  • One hole-in-one.

I assume I just post here, couldn't see where to add myself? Thanks.

    • Yeah that didn't pass the smell test
    • Bryson got hit with a 2 shot penalty, after the round, for improving his lie on hole 5.  Here is a post on X, showing how he stepped on high grass when he was looking down his target line.  When they cut to the side shot, you can see how close he was behind the ball.  I think the R&A probably made the correct decision. You just have to be really careful when you are walking in the high grass, around the ball and where you are to make a swing.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
