Color of the Glove

24 members have voted

  1. 1. If you wear a glove, does the color matter and if so, do you have a color preference?

    • Any color is fine with me
    • Prefer beige or a lighter color like tan
    • Prefer a glove color that matches or accents what I am wearing
    • Prefer black
    • Prefer red

    • Prefer blue

    • Something else, please explain

I prefer white or tan.  I find darker colors distracting but I suppose I could get used to them.  Definitely don't worry about the glove clashing with what I am wearing.

I've used black for other sports and find it to be a little distracting.   My personal preference is white.

Black doesn't distract me, but I feel so much more confident with white.  I started playing golf with a black glove, but I quickly realized how much better I felt on the tee with a white glove.  Some weird psychological thing, but hey, whatever works right?

Definitely white but simply because I have always played white and it looks right.

I buy white gloves, but I'd like to believe that a different color wouldn't bother me.  As long as I get to pick, though, I'll pick white.

White glove.  Also only play white golf balls.  Additionally, I wear the glove the entire round and don't remove it to putt.

I don't really care about the color but always use white because that's the color they seem to sell.

On the subject of glove colors, is it just me or does Charley Hoffman's green glove make it look like he's starting to turn into the Hulk?

When I learned from this forum that the glove was not really needed (unless you experience hand/club slippage) I dropped the accessory. Much better without the stupid thing.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

I only play white balls, Can't hit the optic yellows or oranges, or those weird Volvik things! I do remove my glove to putt except when it's really cold, then why bother? I also use only white or natural wood tees. I cannot hit a ball off a red, blue, or green colored tee!

That's true. My buddy likes black and he has one hell of a time finding them!

True. But when it gets really hot and humid, and I'm sweating like crazy (which I understand is not really a problem in San Diego), I'll always wear one.

I prefer white or medium blue (doesn't clash too much with outfits). I like a third color on really hot days so I can keep the glove rotation straight.

As for a black glove, make sure it has a good dye job. Last summer I ruined khaki cargo shorts on a rainy day when a black glove bled smudges all over it.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Well I prefer white myself. White tends to reflect more sun/heat than darker colors.
