just heard Brandel go on for about 3 minutes dissecting Tigers swing, he was fixated on how tigers right elbow seems to be moving straight down from the top of the BS, whereas before it was apparently moving down and out. any validity to his criticism?

The camera angle was complete crap.

The fact that you listened to Brandel disappoints me. :-P

I'm not even trying to follow the tournament and Woods' score is coming up on my social feeds.

This is pretty incredible from Tiger. I honestly expected him to finish last or near last. -4 through 8 on his first competitive round in over a year. Damn.

Of course, as soon as I say that, he puts a drive into some bushes.

He's had 3 pulled drives and 2 good drives.  Maybe a tad quick on those pulled drives.

He looks like he is playing well but not great.   He's hit some nice shots but the real winners will be the TV coverage.

The last I looked, he (TW) was -4, but he is now -2. Is he coming apart at the seams?

Got in trouble on the last two par 5s with ugly tee shots, as well as a poor pitch on 9 and a poor second on 11.  Seems to be nailing the short-ish par/bogey putts though at least.  And a lot of good irons shots.

I've never heard of a shirt-ish putt. Is that where the butt of your putter gets caught in your shirt. ;-)

Wow! 2 bogies on par 5's. Ouch...

No idea what you're talking about.

Also, he found another waste area to the left again with his latest drive.

Dang. Guy comes out on fire (from the looks of his scorecard at least) and now this. ::Makes crash-and-burn motion with hand::

I wouldn't be surprised if its at least partially fatigue.  I know he's in great condition, but he hasn't walked many rounds of golf, and hasn't walked a competitive round for a long time.  He hasn't needed to grind (there's one for the Bingo card).  I'd bet he's going to have both mental and physical fatigue for a while still, until he's in the swing of tournament golf.  I wouldn't be surprised if he's a little less affected during the Friday and Saturday rounds, but I'd also be surprised if it didn't catch up to him sometime on Sunday.  Still, if he can play all four days in a row, and avoid disasters, I think I'd call it a success.

Longer he goes, the more the flaws in his game will show themselves.  He's right at the over-under line now.

    • Day 135: worked on putting bead for a while with the 2 cups drill.
    • Day 211 (29 Nov 24) - Friday men’s round albeit a solo foursome (temps in the 40’s, day after Thanksgiving and the average age closer to 75 - I’m a youngster at 65).  Interesting day of semi-solid play (8 of 18 GIR). Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
    • Day 60 - 2024-11-29 Got about 3.5' of snow today, so I was going to go to Golf Evolution, but… I only left the house to throw some snow. Instead, i checked out my putting stroke on HackMotion in the basement. Turns out… it's pretty good, and I'm very in touch with what I'm doing.
