It’s hard to get a full turn though...

Come on down.  I’ll share a cart with you, as long as you can keep up with a 3 hour round or less!

Not interested in sharing a cart. First, because I’m a walker and that’s how I like to golf. Second, based on behaviors on course that I’ve witnessed since courses in my area opened up, I don’t have much confidence in people to mitigate virus transmission.

But I’d be happy to see cart sharing with some sort of coronavirus transmission mitigation in place because from what I’ve seen at local courses, the management is too stupid to effectively implement single rider cart policy efficiently. Worst example was last weekend. I showed up and checked in for a 1:12pm tee time at around 1:00pm, and the 12:00pm foursome was still waiting to tee off. The course had run out of carts (no shit, if you’re using up twice as many carts as normal), and instead of asking able bodied folks to walk, or reorganizing tee times so walkers could get out, they simply made everyone stand around while they waited for carts to come in, get cleaned/sanitized, and finally get delivered to the first tee. By 1:30pm, the 12:00pm group finally teed off. Considering there were 6 foursomes ahead of my group, I got a refund and hopped over to a janky 9 hole par-3, and at least a round in.

I'm a walker so take my opinion with a grain of salt but, couldn't you wear a mask while riding?

Yes, COVID-19 is the reason I don’t want to share a cart with a complete stranger 🙃

What if it was just someone you knew who was strange, but not completely strange?😀

I prefer walking when I play unless they require a cart.  I like the exercise.

I think I've only used one cart (course required) this Spring, but much of that is due to my walking preference.  Share with a stranger, no.  I'm still trying to determine whether I'm sharing with a friend this weekend.  Not overly worried about Covid, but why take chances just in case.

The municipal course I play has outfitted their carts with a plastic divider approved by the local health department.  Many courses in NE Ohio have adopted something similar so that they are not losing the two player cart fee.

I almost never play golf with anyone other than my sons and so it's probably a moot point. But if I was to ride I'd certainly choose to not ride with a stranger. Not just because of the pandemic...I've been socially distancing my whole adult life. 😉

I played yesterday.   The course gave us the option to use individual carts for an extra $5 / cart.   For $10, we each had our individual carts.   I don't expect that will be the case at many courses but it was nice yesterday.

As of today, my club is once again allowing 2 riders per cart with no other restrictions.

They aren’t requiring it though...

We are not allowed to share carts unless it is with a spouse or someone you live with. I really miss caddies. Starting next week, we will be allowing forecaddies, but they cannot clean your ball or clubs. They will carry their own rake. They will also allow caddies to take a cart with two bags (and a rake) so the players can walk but the players cannot ride with them at any time. In this circumstance, we will pay them a full caddie fee with no cart charge. We want to get the caddies back out on the course or we will lose them. This is what I will start to do at that point, otherwise I will carry. I hate riding in a cart unless I am with my wife.

Here you go Shane @CarlSpackler.

A divider? Outside?

The air currents while driving the cart isn't going move the air around?

Unbelieveable.

Sure, but if someone coughs or sneezes while you're riding in the cart… I'm fine with it. You can spend a good amount of time right next to the person in your cart.

Our home course is doing the one person per cart thing most of the time.

The only time they will allow two folks in the same cart is with family members.

Yesterday my Granddaughter and shared a cart, as she is too young to have her driver's license yet.
