Just bought a sixer of Magners and stashed it in the fridge at work. Definitely will have a couple later if we don't go out.

Well, I made sure to have the keg of Sierra Nevada ready at the house for the MidAtlantic boys over the weekend.  There's a lot left over, I'll have such a tough job finishing it off over the next few weeks.

That explains your latest posts, and the lack of enough of them. :-D

Celebrating a dear friend's B-Day this weekend and so far have been to two dinners out in his honor. Last night we were at a place with a list of 100+ beers. Enjoyed a Schneider Weisse Original and Mikkeller 'Beer Geek Breakfast' oatmeal coffee stout. Both were excellent but really like the Mikkeller. Impressive list but some pricey options I wouldn't dream of trying, some $60-75 bottles. Bombers I'm sure but still. The Mikkeller was $25 for a 500ml and what likely sells for $12ish in the store so in line with usual alcohol markup.

Tonight we are going to a place with less beer options so maybe a Laphroaig 18.

Was rolling through the drive-thru after Saturday's round and spotted a four-pack of Old Speckled Hen. That's sort of a rare thing around here. Managed to split them between Saturday night and Sunday.

A nice change of pace to be sure.

We've got two types of beer drinkers here. There's the kind that are married to the same old light lager. Then you have the fancy-pants people who swear by their IPAs. Whatever the actual type of beer, I like something between the two. Luckily that drive-thru owner has a mind for variety.

Nice. My sister just moved there last month. I want to take the family up for a visit sometime. She loves it there so far.

I've been to Appleton a few times. I don't recall it being that boozy.

Quote

Bottoms up! Appleton, Wisconsin, is named the DRUNKEST city in the US with one in four people drinking to excess while Provo-Orem, Utah, is the driest

A report found that 26.8 per cent of adults there drink to excess - and that 30.3 per cent of driving deaths involve alcohol
The Oshkosh-Neenah metro area, also in Wisconsin, was second-drunkest
Provo-Orem metropolitan area in Mormon-heavy Utah only had 9.2 per cent drinking to excess

I'm sensing a theme here eh @cipher!
