http://denver.suntimes.com/den-entertainment/7/103/76151/tiger-woods-lindsey-vonn-wedding
The sports power couple are rumored to be getting hitched in Colorado over the Valentine’s Day weekend, according to a ski writer for the New York Daily News. It’s not really that implausible that he would tie the knot with Vonn right now. After all, he’s just announced a “leave of absence” from golf and she finishing up a major event (World Ski Championships) that she was training for.
Tiger you're doing it wrong, you're supposed to make a big hub-bub and send out wedding invites...than immediately split right after.

On the real, if this is true, I wish these two the best.

Lindsey didn't fare any better on the slopes than Tiger did on the links.  Maybe they were both feeling the distraction of their secret.

Whatever... if the rumor is true, here's a toast to the bride and groom.

If rumour is true, congrats, but... Skiing is fun, especially when snow is perfect, which is basically how it is out West, but I hope Woods stays off the slopes or at the very least anything approaching a black diamond run, maybe even blues. Because the last thing he needs is another injury and current ski/snowboarding equipment tends injure knees/wrists iirc. i think I recall reading about skiing/snowboarding injuries to pro golfers - Duval, Love III and others.

Getting married is a major distraction, I'd guess it's especially hard when you have kids and an ex-wife so it help explains why Tiger hasn't seemed to have his head in the game.  I hope this one works out for both of them and Tiger can refocus on golf.  While I don't expect him to break Jacks record, I should would like to see it.

Seems about right. Congrats and best wishes.

That's the extent to which I care about this off-course stuff… mostly because it may have been affecting (or continue to affect) his golf. Hopefully it was a distraction and he can see a bit of an upswing in his golf now.

Lindsey is doing just fine for herself.  Not Tiger money but she won't be hurting for the rest of her life either.

Per Forbes, Lindsey Vonn made 3 million last year.  A few years of that and your set for life.

Good for him, she's hot and has a great career, unlike the previous gold-digger.

That being said I wonder if the guys struggles are more about being family minded rather than golf minded and he's just not working hard enough to play well, a lady like Lindsey Vonn will have that affect on a man.

That "gold-digger" wanted nothing to do with being with a tour golfer and Tiger had to work pretty hard to pursue her, IIRC.

Well, it doesn't look as if they got hitched over the weekend, or there would be some news about it.  Just another rumor biting the dust?

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
