How do you orient your ball when you tee it up?

I know a lot of you, probably don't think much of this on the tee box, but here it goes.

When we putt, a lot of us probably set the seam of the ball toward our intended line.

But I was wondering how the community tees up their ball, seam pointed on the intended line, pole (logo)up, poles on the target line, poles straddling the target line, or any old way it will sit on the tee?

So it gives me something focus on, I draw an A with a circle around it above the logo so I can remember to keep my head steadier, so logo up for me.

How do you guys and gals orient your ball on the tee? This is NOT a question of tee height.

Thanks.

I try to hide any arrows or numbers or logos, but I'm not really a stickler about it. It's not like I can orient the ball for my second shot anyway.

I should really take advantage and do something like this, but I don't.  I don't orient my ball at all other than sometimes make a point to not put my sharpie markings right where I make contact, that way I don't smudge them.

I put mine parallel to my shoulder line so I can read the logo.  I even do it this on the range. Must be a little OCD on my part.

In no particular way . .I just put it on the tee and hit it.  Same for putting, I don't mark or pick up my ball unless it's dirty or in the way.  If I do mark it, I just plop it back down however.

Logos horizontal and facing the target and the clubface. This is just habit now, but was suggested to me by an Uncle more years ago than I care to think about! He was a PGA country club pro before WWII. He told me to tee it this way because you didn't want to hit it on the seam. Given how balls were made back then, it might have been sound advice.

Oddly enough, a few years ago I read an article somewhere that claimed the ProV-1 performed slightly better if you did hit it on the seam. Anyway, when I look at a ball on a tee, all I want to see is white and dimples.

Ditto. I prefer to see mostly white, but I don't adjust it if I don't get it right or forget or something.

I do! It depends on the situation. Short par 3, i line it up on my intended start line. Rest of the time, logo up. It instills confidence once Ive picked a ball for good. And heres the weird part...I NEVER make any attempt whatsoever to line up my ball for putting. I want to focus all my energy on rolling the putt down the line right into the cup. I do not feel like Im trying to start it on line, My focus becomes so intense, that the line and the cup become one and thats the only way I sink putts. That,  and as mentioned in lsw, putting takes the least amount of skill. :)

I have one of those ball spinning gizmos that allows me to mark a line around the ball. I don't do this for a ball balance issues. I do it as an aim line when I get on the green.

On the tee, I aim the line a little right of my target as a reminder for club path.

A couple of other pluses, is ball identification, and it leaves a mark on the club face, with what ever club I am using.

I've never even bothered to check. I just tee the ball up how ever it's oriented when I take it out of my pocket.

When I putt I like to look at no markings at all.

I have a line on my ball that I line up toward my target.  I use the line to make my stance parallel with the line.  I rely on it for my alignment as I never look down the fairway at address.

I do this for both tee and putt. I don't like lines interfering with my aim.

Putting or on the tee, I prefer not to see anything but white.  I almost always make the label run horizontal, but rightside up or upside down, I don't care.

Like @Buckeyebowman, I remember the advice from WAY back in the day that hitting a ball on the "seam" would produce inferior results.  I also remember that when the ProV1 was first introduced, there was supposedly a noticeable advantage toward hitting it with the "seam" vertical and aligned at the target, something to do with the dimple pattern.  I think that advantage was eliminated in the next edition, if it ever really existed.
