Callaway SuperSoft...been my go to ball for about 3 years...

Mine too for about the same amount of time.

I'm a Pro-V-1X guy. I've tried several balls over the last year and a half and it performs the best.  I know there are balls out there that are longer off the tee, but The "X" works best on and around the green for me.

Just bought my 5 dozen Snell MTB Black for the season. Hope I get to use them.

I am a believer in using the same ball and not switching.

I use the e7 Bridgestone ball, most of the time. Great ball for under $2 each.

Unfortunately I think Bridgestone has , or will be discontinuing them. Luckily I have a few dozen in my stock.

A whole bunch of Tour Edge golf stuff......

I have bought 50 used pro v1s, prov1xs and avxs for 75€. I have yet to play them. They seem in pretty good condition.

While, once upon a time, a previous version of myself used to stalk golf balls in the wild; I have settled, of late, on the Precept Laddie.  They go for around 20 clams per 2 dozen and fall into the Goldilocks zone for me...neither clacky or mushy.  I also like some of the offerings from TaylorMade but they are rather pricey...at least compared to the Precepts.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."

Does that mean you were often in the woods?  😊  (Hell, I have coyote friends who know more about my golf balls than me)

Yes indeed.  I would play with a single golf ball, until I lost it, then adopt the next one I found.  It was a point of pride to play the same ball round after round...no matter how many battle scars it acquired.

P.S.  The best place to find high quality, only hit once, golf balls is in the briers.

Srixon Q Star Tour. Great 3 pc ball at a real good price. If you have a slower swing speed try the Srixon soft féel. Its long but you will give up spin around the green. If you swing a little faster the QStar tour is real good.

Currently Vitamin M is preventing me from playing the golf ball of my choice.  I buy used balls at the club and wind up with an assortment.

But given a choice, I prefer the Titleist NXT.  I find the Pro V and its ilk has too much spin for me.  Off the tee I run the risk of excessive side spin taking the ball out of play.  On full shots into the green I really want the ball to drop and stop, not spin backwards, which most tour balls tend to do if hit well.

What's in the bag

  • Taylor Made r5 dual Draw 9.5* (stiff)
  • Cobra Baffler 4H (stiff)
  • Taylor Made RAC OS 6-9,P,S (regular)
  • Golden Bear LD5.0 60* (regular)
  • Aidia Z-009 Putter
  • Inesis Tour 900 golf ball

Titleist TruFeel.  I'm not good enough to play Pro V-1s.

I have been playing the Titlist TruSoft which was replaced by the TruFeel. I still have a few boxes of TruSoft that were available cheap from Amazon but eventually I will have to find a new ball. Just curious if you have ever played the TruSoft and if so is the TruFeel comparable?

I have played both. Titleist sent me a sleeve of the Trufeel to try and give feedback. I liked the ball but find the Srixon Q Star Tour better overall.

    • Day 105: mirror work today. Focused on not looping my hands at the top of the swing. Straight down.
    • Still working on the backswing a bit. Hand still gets away from the body, out towards the ball, and at A2 the club wants to roll over and get flat at A3. It's just very difficult to shallow from that position like I want. Which makes my downswing work impossible.  Backswing I have been playing around with the left leg straightening to start the backswing. It's like, a slight shove of the hips right with the left leg. Then just keep the flex in the right knee as I turn into it. I kind of like it. I never had a good swing trigger. It helps keep my left knee extended.  Yea, definitely feeling the hand path is traveling down the feet line, and straight up. A little bit of wrist rotation, and a lot more hinge sooner in the right wrist and elbow. I am trying to get the feeling that the arm hinging up then is the cause for the right shoulder to retract to finish the backswing. Club feels much more vertical at A3. I am trying to have my wrist fully hinged by then.  Feel the club and arms stop at A3.5 (my A4). If my arm collapses late, then I turn into that and I am pretty much screwed. The club and arms kind of have a floaty feeling, where they are just suspended in air for a bit, then drop.  Downswing I have been trying to think of a good visual for this mentally. I like the idea of my hands taking a wide arc to my right pocket, or I am taking the back of the hosel and trying to hit the ground behind my right foot.    Left knee stuff, just sooner.
    • Day 78 - 2026-03-10 Backswing work at the net with foam balls, a few real ball swings.
    • Day 525 - 2026-03-10 Got some work in before lessons today (was going to play after but it decided to POUR). Then like three minutes in later on.
    • Day 2 (10 Mar 26) - Worked on weight shift feel using slap stick drill (hands about 6” apart - coming back weight on trail foot - down - thru weight on lead foot….moved it to hitting chips w/9i playing what I call “leap frog” - hit 1st about 10yds, the next a couple past the 1st, for about 6 balls total.  Love it as the lies change, the distances vary making each swing slightly different.
