Sure. Tiger gets to use one of his wedges and gets a free shot.

So dumb. Seems like a cheap way to get more clicks, he is an "influencer" after all.

I missed this one. Don’t really want a new thread for it since I very much doubt it’d take place. Jake Paul challenged Tiger to a fight… because Tiger was a top 10 athlete google search… yeah.

This is a Tiger Woods thread. Not a Jake Paul thread. Who gives a sh*t what that jerk says about anything? Millions, obviously, but you may as well link to a comment he makes about anything else. Saying you "very much doubt" it would take place isn't as emphatic as it should be. He may as well say he's going to challenge Jack Nicklaus to a fight. Not worth reporting.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

My god he is lucky to be able to do this. Well, mostly lucky with the immediate after effects of the car accident, then I think most of it is just how much he trained his body and swing. We mortals can only stand in awe.

Some easy wedges I get, but this was very unexpected.

The only problem is that after following his body for too many years now, I can’t help but wonder when the bad news come, or video of him limping into a cart. It’s been emotional to many a fan, I can’t imagine how it must have been for him to be struck down, climbed up again only to fall once more. Says a lot about his motivation and drive to play golf and win tournaments.

Oh well, all the best to Tiger and his body. He will always be a point of excitement if he’s on a list of players starting a tournament.

It was lucky to not have lost the leg.  But the rehab isn't luck, it is grit, hard work, and determination.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Not ashamed at all to admit that I've been more than just a little emotional watching this weekend - the fact that he's playing at all, his interactions with Charlie and the little guy's game and mannerisms, seeing him with Sam, it's all been wonderfully overwhelming.

Just amazing. No way did I see a second place finish coming after a handful of rounds all year.

I’ll be a real Debbie Downer and say I’d just like to watch Tiger play. The incessant babbling over Tiger’s leg was ridiculous. Listened for awhile on radio and couldn’t take it anymore. Then I’d come back and….still talking about his leg. He shattered his leg. He’s done a remarkable job with his rehab. Let’s just enjoy the golf and not make it a five alarm news flash when he winces.

Seriously.

And like I've been pointing out, and had to a lot today on another site, it's good that it was his trail leg that was screwed up. It lets him get back to playing golf a LOT sooner. If it was his front leg… we'd not see Tiger on the golf course yet, I don't think. For months.

    • Day 23 (23 May 25) - Played Friday scramble as usual - came away with some good thoughts on the green side of things.  It was a day where I was lacking confidence in the wedge game and played a number of them short, however I went back to some of my readings about playing to the “big” side of the green and saw much better long approaches.
    • That is absolutely insane. I’ve never played a 6 hour round before. Once I played a round that took 3:00 for the front nine and I walked off. I was kind of salty about that at the time because the guy in the shop said if I wait 10 minutes to check in, I’d get twilight rates, but what he failed to mention were the three other groups lined up ahead of me doing the exact same thing. Totally not worth the $20 I saved. I played a course once that was kind of the opposite. Despite being built in the 90’s, the contours on the greens were ridiculous and they had to keep the greens fairly long to compensate. It was an awful experience.
    • Asked a friend of mine how his Monday round was at Trull Brook GC.  He said it was awful… took 6 hours and 45 minutes.  He said they went inside to complain afterwards and the course didn’t care.  They told him “it’s bust, nothing we can do about it.”. Can u  imagine??  It’s a short well kept 18 hole course that does shave their greens down so it’s really not fun to play there.  The greens were built back before mowers could cut them that short .He said it was $100 to play as well.
    • I knocked off 2 more holes today.  Shot 78 from blues (6670yds).  Had 4 birdies, 2 of them on holes I hadn't yet birdied this year. Now only 3 more holes to go:  The 2 lowest Hcp holes and a Par-5 (can't believe I haven't taken this one down yet).
    • This week on league I broke my driver during my tee shot.  I re-teed it and took Stroke & Distance.  My playing partners tried to tell me not to take a penalty since it "was not my fault". It totally ruined my round but I felt the S&D penalty was appropriate. Specifics: I was on the 9th tee.  I hit my driver and really thought I hit it well but the ball went only 20 yards into a waste area in front of the tee box.  So I re-teed it and said "I'm hitting 3".  On the 2nd tee shot I again felt I hit it crisp but the ball shot weakly to the left going next to the #8 green and during my follow though the shaft shattered @ 8 inches above the club head.  So I head over to my ball "Hitting 4" (I need to verbalize these penalties or I may fail to count them) and that is when they all said to not count any penalties because it was very possible the shaft was breaking on the 1st tee shot. One guy even tried to sound authoritative and said "There was no intent to play a broken club so the shot does not count".  They even tried the "Its not fair, if the club had not broke you would likely be in much better position so do not penalize myself". I did take the S&D penalty and played my 4th from where the 2nd tee shot ended up and finished with an 8 on the Par 4 and lost my match by 1 stroke.  I know it sucks, but in my mind I see no way around the S&D penalty.
