So so first round, strong second round, makes cut, then two middling rounds to finish outside the top 50.

I hope I'm wrong.

C'mon! I got him in the top 20...I have faith in him. He showed a lot at The Hero

I'd like nothing more than to see him dominate, but... I think he'll make the cut, show flashes of brilliance and then struggle badly with a couple of holes which will keep him out of the top 50.

Best guess, he makes the cut and a middle of the pack finish.

The only thing that would really surprise me is a win.

In David's bag....

Top 20. I think he is more ready than we know. and he looks fit. Would be something to see him in contention in the Masters.

putter: Taylormade ghost series 770 35 inch ( Super Stroke slim 3.0 )
Balls: Taylormade TP 5

I voted top 20.  I actually think he'll finish around 20th.

I base this on what I saw at the Hero.  Aside from a few hiccups, he looked like his old self.

This is an easy top 20 for him, but being realistic about his comeback he will need to play at least a few tourneys before he starts winning everything consistently again.

I said middle third. I've become jaded from his last few "comebacks" and I just don't see him firing on all cylinders. This place used to be his. He's won at Torrey 8 times. 8! So I wouldn't be surprised to see him do better than my vote here. I just see him posting something like 71 on the South, 68 on the North and then like 71, 72 on the weekend to finish T27. I think Bay Hill is where we'll see him really in contention and then hopefully a W at the Masters.

I voted 25th to 50th. The competition keeps getting better and he's getting older. I hope he physically holds up thru the tournament.

I know, I know LOL!

He did show a lot, he played better than I had expected...I dunno, I just think Torrey is just a much tougher course, his rust might show up more

I think he either MCs or makes the cut but isn't a factor on the weekend. This is an extremely tough course, and he has to drive it really well to contend. I'm not sure he's at that point yet. I hope he surprises me, though.

There is a sure bet.  I still think he will finish top 10.  I just can't see him being not ready after what I've seen in early December.

He's also had almost 2 months since the World Hero to practice. I know its not the same as tournament golf, but I expect his chips and pitches to be more dialed in now than they were at the World Hero.

Right now tiger is just trying to get back to what he was or at least a reasonable fact simile. I thunk that he will finish around 20th. This is a course that has been very good to him in the past. :-P

Actually, I'm not so concerned about the pitches and chips, that rough and grass in Bahamas was very tricky. I'm more concerned with his distance control. Several times at the Hero, he had a wedge in and flew the green by 10-15 yards, I was like WTF???

    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
    • I agree, until we are watching the 18th hole in the dark or waiting for the champion to finish and it's been 5+ hours
    • Question for the group. The course I normally play at has 27 holes - 3 9s that they use to for 18 in the various combinations. Is it okay to declare* if I’m playing front or back when I play 9 on this course? I’m figuring I need to declare before I play a shot. *meaning just say to myself that this is the back 9. Curious what people think. Of course, my only holes left are 13 and 17, so I’m going to declare the back 9 for the rest of the year. Probably only one or two more rounds though.
    • This is my opinion as well. I would love to see the LPGA take the lead on this.    This.
    • I agree in general. The one way in which the viewer will notice the pace of play is just that "it's been an hour and Nelly Korda or Scottie Scheffler have only played four holes." Or if for some reason they show a lot of shots of players just standing around when they could be showing golf shots. But I think Andy Johnson said it most recently/best, playing fast is a skill, too. I would love for pro golfers to play faster. You'd see the players you want to see hit more shots in the same time than they do now. So I don't disagree with the pace of play stuff, and hope they can find ways to do it. Heck, the LPGA should leap at the chance to differentiate itself in this way, IMO. So: I stand by what I said in that the TV viewer really doesn't notice much about pace of play. It's rare when they do. I support increasing the pace of play wholeheartedly. But my top five reasons don't include TV ratings or viewership.
