Shot a 39 par 37 yesterday walking on a beautiful day.

Who knows, may be doable! I can feel my game is coming back, and the putting is getting MUCH better!

That's the spirit!

Went 37-41 on Saturday for a 78. Excited to shoot a score like that early in the season. Swing was feeling great but it was hard to make putts as the greens are still incredibly slow and bumpy.

I can't seem to find the post about the vlog requirements. We are supposed to get an 18 hole vlog if I recall? I should be able to do that in the near future.

Not sure which team it will benefit, but you know things are getting serious when I'm breaking out a pool noodle on the range. #steadyhead

You can still apply. We've only chosen 2 of the 6 participants for each team.

We are rolling toward the next selection.  Candidates and first time team members likely are excited, concerned and curious about this event.  We are all interested in meeting new members as well as @iacas and @mvmac.  Beyond that, how about talking about a few things, assuming one is selected?

  • What are you most looking forward to? (other than meeting the guys)
  • Assuming one has any concerns, what is it/are they?
  • Anything you are particularly curious about?

Looking forward?  Definitely the team games (four ball and foursomes).  Having a teammate came create quite a bit of pressure between the ears,  It can definitely be a roller coaster.

Concern(s)? Other than having a snorer as a roommate, I'd say being the worst golfer.  It is fairly rare that in a group of 12 players that I am the worst. It happens, though.  Sometimes playing with better players inspires one to great things. Since the matches are handicapped, it might not be too bad.  Ultimately, if one plays to one's handicap, the scoring will be decent.

Curious?  How accurate my impressions of people will be after watching V-Logs and reading posts.

Anyone else care to take a crack at this?  Modify or add questions, too.

And again, this all makes the very large assumption that one will be selected.  Think positively!

  • Not winning by a large enough margin
  • What happens if the win isn't convincing?

I think it'll be a fun trip overall, since I've never gone on any type of golf vacation or trip before. Going somewhere for the sole purpose of golf will be pretty fun, since it means I'll get to play a lot of golf with my own clubs (instead of one round with a crummy rental set like on other vacations) and that I will be able to play some pretty nice courses.

My only potential concerns are classes that I'll end up missing, but I doubt I will have problems with that. My freshman year I may have had a class that I attended only two lectures in that I still did fine with, so missing one set of classes on Thursday and one on Friday shouldn't be an issue for me so long as a test isn't scheduled for either of those days.

What drink will be chosen to fill the Newport Cup after the West team rolls to victory?
