I’m thinking some plastic surgery, a few pounds, and longer hair and he’ll come back looking like John Daly.

Hey guys he did it. LOL! What was he, 190-200? Sitting around 240 now..pretty wild.

He would make a good club bouncer. And I don't mean that kind of guys like us who bounce a golf club off the ground when we get angry and throw it.

He would scientifically remove a customer from a bar for over drinking by explaining the nuances of his breath alcohol content and its ramifications on society.

Ok so he had a caloric surplus and worked out. Everyone can bulk up with that formula. That he made it seem like he and his trainer had some kind of secret fitness technique that nobody knows about is still ridiculous.

He's going to take six weeks off and come back completely jacked and looking like a different person? Sounds like some Instagram fitness BS. Next thing you know he's going to be promoting BCAAs.

I stand corrected about my previous comments. He definitely looks different. But I assumed he was trying to put on lean muscle and try to get jacked in a month or two, which doesn’t happen. Instead, he put on muscle along with fat and just got bigger. That’s not what most people picture when they think about body transformation.

His hat seems to look a little tighter around his head...

Also, Gary Woodland looks slimmer than I remember.

Watching the Tour live now. Unless he’s discovered some new type of abdominal muscles, he’s fat. He’s got a beer belly. That is not the best way to bulk up.

Now we can start the Bryson’s so fat joke thread.

I'm with ya. I made the post last October so he's had roughly 8 months to bulk. Definitely noticeable belly/love handle fat but also a lot of muscle mass gained too, he says he's gonna keep going until he reaches a point where he loses flexibility or isn't making distance/ball speed gains.

Most of the long drive guys are big for a reason.

His gains are coming into play at Colonial, which isn’t a bomber-friendly course:

BrysonDeChambeauDriver.jpg

A bigger, faster Bryson DeChambeau wasn't sure how much his newfound distance would help him at Colonial...

I wonder if this is going to start a new trend on tour. Tiger inspired a generation of golfers to work out, but they’re generally lean. This is definitely a different approach to the game.

I gotta be honest, he looks bloated and puffy. Wasn't he trashing Koepka for not having abs?

I mean I can't believe nobody has brought this up, but it's pretty clear to me that Dechambeau realized he needed to add some size to stand a chance when Koepka physically pummels him the next time they're paired when Bryson plays a 6 hour round of golf.

I agree with you on this.

You know how the media is though. They always have to work in the "mad scientist" angle.

Personally, I think the guy is good for the game.

    • Day 24 9-7 Worked on lower body movement with full swing. Focused on hips. Need to work on setup a bit. Was hoping to get to the short game area today, stayed home and recorded some swings instead. I've come to the conclusion I learn the most with my practice setup at home, just a net and a hitting strip. Overall happy with the progress this week.
    • Day 2 (September 7), still with the grip and the medicine ball (using weights).   Still on vacation and really aching to be able to do a full practice the way I'd be able to at home.  Also bought a 1/2" section of pipe today at the hardware store and have been regularly practicing the grip with that too while watching Sunday football with the family.
    • Day 1: Worked on feels for wedge swings. Primarily getting everything to move from the top of the backswing in the correct sequence.
    • Day 6 (7 Sep 25) - Afternoon pitch session with the 54 and 58 in the backyard. Keys: Alignment - Setup - Smooth swing thru - working on each to be as “automatic” as possible - not mindless, but deliberately repeatable. I have found the precision required to properly execute carries well into the full swings.
    • 180% is the threshold. But yeah, many of them are close to 200%. Not 120 and 123%. People generate speed differently. I think your speed will come more easily when this stuff gets sorted out. Stay disciplined. Stay on the road. You can't get off exit 74 before you hit exit 32.
