Yikes, I would think the best thing for P Reed to do is nothing.

Also, I didn’t know journalists / analysts couldn’t have opinions. Does he need to preface his takes with-“In my opinion, Reed cheated”?

I'm extremely far from being a Chamblee fan, but this seems egregious to me. f*** Reed.

Patrick Reed, all by himself, may be able to accomplish something bordering on the miraculous here.  He could actually get people to like Brandel Chamblee!  :-D

I keep wanting to give Patrick Reed the benefit of the doubt, but I just cannot anymore. He is a man child, nothing more. His repeated behavior on and off the course just smacks of an immaturity that shouldn't be present in a man turning 30 this year. He reminds me of my children when they were 2 or 3. The pouting, the whining, the cheating, enough is enough. Grow up, take your balls away from that nut job of a wife you have, and start making some mature decisions in your life.

We all periodically breach rules, and when we do, we accept the penalty for doing so, but we’re not cheating.

cheat does so intentionally hoping to get away with the breach and avoid the penalty.

This is absolutely the right way to look at it.  It's extremely annoying to see people called "cheats" when they breach a rule (but take the penalty correctly).

Doesn't seem like it's in his make up to do so. Obviously his sense of entitlement is bigger than Texas, but also thinks playing victim has great merit and the best strategy. Any acknowledgement of poor sportmanship is pandering to the burgeouis. I agree with Chamblee; he seems like the type who are irritated by facts more than anything when they don't work out in their favor.

He’s basically the American Ian Poulter at this point.

Except that he had only one or two good Cups. Then again Ian can't play in the Presidents Cup.

He didn’t take the penalty but was only given the penalty because they caught him. Golf is unique in where we are all our own judges. He improved his lie TWICE in rapid succession and didn’t call it on himself. And don’t tell me a professional golfer didn’t notice that his ball now suddenly doesn’t have sand behind it after his two practice backswings...

And don't tell me a tour pro doesn't have such great feel in his hands that he didn't feel the resistance of sweeping away the sand.

And yet he says he didn't notice, and according to Slugger he accepted the strokes when he saw the video.
